(4) ... ...

This thrad is so stupid.

You don't need to have merchandise and all of those commodities to have a love for oddworld or to be an "addict" as you put it. And frankly, I could care less about someone's assload of random crap associated with oddwolrd if I'm going to make a judgment of how much they like oddworld.

So please, if you want to come off as a person that is especially interested in oddworld, then parading around merchandise is not the the way to do so.

Surely a true oddworld fan would have all four games they've produced? And would know better than to call a section of the quintology a "trilogy"?

And there is another thread for oddworld swag and merchandise. Go spam that one up instead.

Yeah , Im sure as hell addicted to oddworld games , id even smoke it if it was a material object ( but i wouldnt shag it , thats a bit hardcore even for my tastes )
But seriously , if you are , stop trying to make yourself sound superior to all of us , i dont think alot of us would be able to afford/find a clay model of munch or abe . No one can be judjed on how much of a fan they are by all the stuff they have , it must come from the heart

this thread pisses me off , im going to blow of some steam , you dissapoint me .

1) There are no history books, only an awesome "art-off" book wish I have... twice
2) I have a couple of them
3) What's that exactly?
4) There are no official ones and I do collect only official licenced stuff
5) Trilogy? I have 3 games from the quintology and SW. That's 4 games.

1. Yes, I have the Oddworld Art book, but I must admit, I have never heard of a book about Necrum and Abe's adventure
2. No, I have no Oddworld T-shirts because no Ebay Seller wants to sell worldwide when it comes to Oddworld.
3. There are no such things as Oddworld Pogs. Believe me, if there were, I would have eaten every packet of crisps in England to get them. But I have a Pog Maker, if that is what you mean? And I also have the entire collection of the Star Wars Pogs, now they're extremely rare, but obviously not as rare as these Oddworld Pogs, that even us, the biggest Oddworld Fans, haven't heard of.
4. The models, well, my Mum thought the abe one would always be around, so we didn't get, we decided to save our money. and the Munch one, PayPal was playing up so I couldn't get it. So even if you make clay ones yourself, please be aware that you can get an official Abe Statue, and an Official Munch Statue made by our very own Pzak.
5. If you mean Abe A Go go, then, no, I do not have that, but I have downloaded all of the Oddworld Music off Oddworld.com and burnt them to disk.
6. I have a Strategy Guide for AO and AE, but MO and Stranger, I decided I would play my first game without walkthroughs or cheats.
7. I have the games in the Quintology, Abe's Oddysee and Munches Oddysee, and I also have the games that are not part of the Quintology, Abe's Exoddus and Strangers wrath.

Xavier, they're are official ones, the Statues of Abe and Munch. Pzak got a call from Lorne and Lorne Declared his Munch to be official.

An Oddworld Addict is not the same thing as An Oddworld collector.

Definitions:

The Oddworld Adict is a person who cannot resist the habit of playing the games of Oddworld for psychological reasons. Like Me.

The Oddworld Collector is a person who gathers official objects or items and keeps them for his or her own personal use. Like Xavier.

Definitions Over

A lot of us, particularly us in the UK, cannot get Officially lisenced Oddworld Products, even off EBAY. I have a collection of officialy lisenced products, and one unofficial mouse mat with Abe drowning in beer. However, I do not include this as part of my collection. However, we try our best to buy as many things as possible.

Yours Truly,

Fuzzle Guy

PS: I would quite like to see a photo of your clay models.

PS: BBS also has an Expresso Mouse Mat.

And have written to Alf for purposes other than asking a Rehab and Tea question; just to communicate with the company. Like to give feedback on one of their games or something.

All I have is the "In Odd we Trust" tee shirt. Some conceptual art of a mudokon helplessly dangling from a Tear X-tractor on the front, and a flying slig lugging a massive bomb on the back. Sadly, I've grown a bit too large and it's no longer a comfortable fit, but I'll be damned and dipped in chocolate if I'm gunna put it on eBay.

I also have the sticker collections, the places and products collection of both AO and AE. Now, looking back at the mini catalogue, I wish I had bought A LOT more.

Lay off the n00b, guys. Can n00bs call even newer n00bs n00bs? If you want to lay it out on someone, lay it out on me. I have two Xboxes and won them both *braces for impact*

Someone who is an Oddworld Addict has a medical condition: O.D.D. A ridiculously convinient acronym for Oddworld Dependancy Disorder. I was working on a website "O.D.D.s Anomymous", but then realised I don't know the first thing about webpage designing, or even getting it online.

It is true that here in the UK, without a reliable online shop, it is very hard to get any Oddworld Merchandise, other than the games themselves (duh) and the Art book. Which is awesome. The Art book, not the lack of availability.

Those models sound really cool, but what I really want is a cuddly paramite toy.

In MY opinion, to be an Oddworld Addict, all you have to have is UNDYING LOYALTY TO THE PRINCIPLE, even if your parents banned it from the household and threatened to throw away your CD, so you hid it in your diary and only take it out and play it when theyre out or somehing. You have to be loyal to OWI no matter how many parents throw away how many of your CD's. You gotta love Oddworld no matter how many people tell you it's stupid. That is MY opinion.

That's no reason give up. Listen up: six years ago I didn't have a clue about anything about the design, language or hosting of websites. A mere half a decade later I now run the only Oddworld fansite alive that's not the Forums. Unless the Oddworld Club is still going.

skillya glowi, I've been rumaging around in the Forums' archives a little bit recently, and comparing fans old and new, I think you're absolutely right. Fandom is an unquenchable, burning desire to really know your subject on top of anything else.

Just how many parents do you have?

And, Max, I don't plan on giving up. I just need the time (A-levels coming up), some tech skill and a little help...

Ok im way to lazy to read all this i got halfway through and well just said, screw it and reply even if im repeating someone, merchandise doesnt make u and oddworld fan, its your sheer love of the game itself, i dont have all 4 games produced but im still inlove with the company, i actually cried a bit when someone posted that oddworld was done for and they would never make games again. I know this is a useless post but im just showing that you dont need oddworld merchandise to be an addict, but i do have the art of oddworld and if there are history books i would really appreciate knowing where to get them. Plus i have made my own planet like oddworld (not exactly like it but its the same basis of being a billion times bigger then earth and millions of lightyears away as lorne said in the disc i got with my AO game guide, Lorne is my hero...sorry im rambling

Yeah, this guy's thread is like two nerds at a Star Trek convention, in a bragging war over what kind of merchandise they have. One guy thinks he's "losing" the "fight," and starts making stuff up that doesn't really exist.

Slig_Cake, when you're newer than the guy you're talking about, please don't use that kind of language. even if he is a bit eccentric or different or addicted or whatever you want to call him, you stil lcan't say that about him if you're newer than he is, and you shouldn't really say that anyway. *Points to Anger Management topic in Forum Help*
But back on topic, i consider myself somewhat of an Oddworld Addict (I prefer the term 'Oddict'). I've only got AO and MO, but I've completed AE (Borrowed it from a friend. Funnily enough i still have his manual for it). Me and this friend actually where once going to make an Oddworld comic (this is back in like 2001/2002), but never got round to it. I also drew my own Oddworld card game *cringes at former geekness*. And seeing as I'm writing an OW fanfic series, I'd say I'm an Oddict.
Also whoever painted that Munch model is either very good and patient at painting, or they have los of free time to spend on it. It's stggeringly good.
