Recently Final Fantasy VIII was released on steam. I personally cannot wait for them to release FFIX on PC but I'm skeptical if they will. The game scored highly on metacritic but got mixed user reviews. It became an either love it or hate it game. I personally think that theres lots of potential for a PC release because a lot of the rendering was done in high quality but was downgraded for the PS1. Which can be seen
here. People who love the game like I do do so for the character depth, deep story, original FF play style, and even the modern socio-political implications. People who disliked it did so because of subpar graphics, and random encounters (IMO if you complain about that you're a b*tch because new FF games are way too easy). I think the game would make a great addition to steam as it has over 80hrs of playtime in a 100% game (excluding Excalibur II although it is possible if you let the game clock run to 100 hrs) and there's plenty of room for steam achievements. Thoughts??
