OWI logo necklace...

I'm making the OWI logo necklace that Abe wears, with the assistance of a Jeweller friend of mine.

But, I've not found images of the logo or necklace pendant that are really big enough to show detail properly. So does anyone have any pictures of it? I know that there are a few versions of it, but I'm sure you all know the one I mean.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot... I also want your opinion on whether the actual dot of the i is attatched to anything, because I was puzzling over that. Any other ideas on the construction are welcomed too.

:
the dot appears attached to the purple, to me.
it depends of the pictures in fact
I guess it's easier to make it in the "attached" way, so that's also correct

Ah, I see how it's attached now. You can't really see it, but the dot of the i is actually attatched to a bar which runs in behind the round amethyst crystal, and connects at the very bottom of the W. The middle of the W runs over the front of the crystal, meaning that the crystal is actually slotted in between the back bar, and the middle of the W. To stop it falling out, the sides of the W sit by the sides of the crystal.

Also I can see that the leather necklace is knotted either side of the dot, to stop the pendant moving around, and to keep the knot of the leather necklace at the back of the neck.

Clever.

I think he said he was making "one" for himself as a sort of Fan Art.

Yeah, that's basically it. I can't make and sell them in large numbers because I don't have the resources to do so, and also it would be illegal to profit from copyrighted works.

Once I've got my metal one made, I might make a few out of cold cure moulding putty, and just pass them on to friends. I could easily make a few for some of the people on OWF if you're prepared to give me your home address and pay for packaging and post over paypal. I would be happy to do that for free if the numbers are low enough (like 5 or 6).

The cold cure moulding putty comes out like a hard plastic, so it can be painted. I'll happily paint them for you, but if you want different colours then you'll have to paint them yourselves.

Maybe you should also give one to Lorne himself, and maybe it comes in his mind to produce them for all fans, so that we can buy them online or something

What are you making the jewel out of?

If you made it a transparentish purply colour that would be cool.

The jewel will be flawless polished amethyst. The metal will probably be low-carat gold.

Sounds like a very sweet idea! Try to post pictures after it's made or something.

It's going to be a while before it's finished, but I'll for sure post pictures here when it's done.
