Parting the leaves, Ludd stared looked upon his intended prey feasting on its prey. As he looked on, he couldn't help admiring the sleek design and muscular form of the red crossbreed. It was a shame, he thought, that the most beautiful creatures were always the most deadly...
The screams of the slig intensified as Malice began on its tail, having finished off the arms. Ludd's eyes glazed over as he felt a wave of sympathy for him, but he knew there was no way he would be able to save the slig, so there was no point in getting emotional about it. Staying cool, that was the most important thing.
Suddenly, one of the branches he was parting snapped in his handfoot. The crossbreed looked up from its victim, eyes narrowing. Without waiting for Malice to give chase, Ludd ran...

The snapping twig made Malice start, and he looked in the direction it had come from. In the shadows, he saw one of the bounty hunters that had been trailing him. He felt a bit irritated; he had given them enough warnings, they should have left him alone and run away in terror long before now. Sighing, Malice dropped the screaming slig onto the dusty ground. Enough warnings and hints, he thought, They're gonna get what's coming to em now!
As the tall glukkon gave chase, Malice leapt into pursuit. The glukkon got a good head start, but the branches impeded his movement, knocking his comparatively thin body back, while Malice's heavier frame snapped even the larger branches off like twigs.
This is almost ter easy, he thought, and deliberately slowed his pace to allow his quarry a bit of a chance.
However, as the two neared the edge of the forest, Malice realised he had made one of his rare miscalculations: he'd forgotten that glukkons move considerably faster in the open. Cursing, he increased his pace, as the undergrowth thinned underfoot. But as the branches died away, he saw the glukkon visibly accelerating before him, across the grassy plains. Cursing again, Malice lessened his pace, slowing to a stop, watching the Bounty Hunter vanish into the long grass...

When he got back to the clearing, the slig was almost dead from blood loss, and it didn't seem as fun torturing someone unconscious. He tried making a mural with the slig's intestines, but his heart wasn't in it any more...
