Favorite Video Games?

Ya see, I love video games, and I've always found it fun to find out what video games other people like.

I first grew up playing the original Sonic the Hedgehog games and since then I've become a fan of Crash Bandicoot, Oddworld, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Threads of Fate, and a bunch of others.

Oh boy. I have a ton of favorite games across a wide range of platforms. (When I say games, I mean franchises, I'm not going to list every game I like in each series.)

Firstly. My favorite game of all time is Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. with Crash Bandicoot being a close second. Both those games are the reason why I'm a gamer today. They mean the absolute world to me.

Now I'll begin with the consoles. Starting with PlayStation (both 1 and 2). Those systems are key part of my childhood and I've even made a YouTube channel (mostly) dedicated to games on it.

Favorite games include Oddworld, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Rayman, Ratchet and Clank and as a single game, Dragon Quest 8.

Nintendo is the other part of my childhood. I began with the handhelds such as Game Boy, Game Boy Advanced and the DS. And believe it or not, I didn't get a Nintendo console way until the Wii. Since then I've gone back bought all of the consoles and have a bit of a collection of older Nintendo classics. I personally love the NES and SNES.

Favorite games include: Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, (The original) Super Mario Bros, Warioware and Mario Kart.

And nowadays, I'm primary a PC gamer.

Favorite games on PC include: Half-Life, Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, Left 4 Dead, Fallout, Elder Scrolls and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

A few standout favorites include: Pokemon Gold, Star Fox 64, Kirby's Adventure, Dishonored, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Space Invaders (PS1), Time Crisis, Metal Slug, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Age of Empires II: Age of Kings.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a major yes. I only really started playing it recently though, within the last few months, since I finally got a computer that works.

Elder Scrolls is also one of my favorite RPGs. Mainly because of how open world it is. My favorite out of the games is Morrowind.

I love Halo 3 a lot, probably one of my top games easily, everything about it is classic. Also I spent way too much time practicing it years ago so I'm mega biased just because I'm pretty good at it. Shame they fucked it up in the Master Chief Collection though.

Gears of War 1 was great too, if only the netcode wasn't total shit but aside from that the gibs were the best of any game I've ever played. The music was great and the shotgun frenzy multiplayer was brilliant. I always played with all weapons swapped to Torque Bows and Frags since it made for really intense games. I don't think there's another game with the same amount of fun as Execution was done, it's easy to not give a shit but when you're the last guy standing it's awesome that you can still clutch against a full team.

Forza 2 because I think it was Gran Turismo 4 but better. No licence tests, driving that didn't suck, nice looking cars and the customisation was my favourite bit since I liked NFS: Underground a lot for that.

Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005 is also excellent, only thing I wish they didn't change between it and Underground 2 was that they removed being able to fishtail opponents.

Only other games I can think of off the top of my head right now are Doom, Quake 1 and Quake 3. I don't play that much anymore though.

:
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
I loved MK3 and UMK3 for 2 player but that input reading scumbag AI put me off UMK3 on my own. :/

My all time favourite game is Crash Team Racing on PS1. Followed closely by Jak X: Combat Racing for PS2. I like to go fast.

then in any order it would be: Ratchet Gladiator (Deadlocked), Ratchet and clank 2, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Dynasty Warriors 5.

Notable games ive greatly enjoyed in recent years that i have not been playing over and over for 15 years include: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Mortal Kombat X, Smite and Awesomenauts.

in no particular order:

Morrowind. i think it's the best Elder Scrolls game out of the lot. it's the very definition of 'open world' and i can still find new shit i've never found before when i play it. i've never even gotten close to completing the majority of it. also: the Morrowind map is actually smaller than Oblivion's, which is surprising considering most people that have played both games assume Morrowind is larger. just goes to show it's not how big you make a game that makes a good immersive game, it's what you put in it. and Morrowind has a fuck-load of stuff in it, more than Oblivion. fuck Oblivion, i really didn't dig it. never even played Skyrim either, never really wanted to.

Call Of Duty 2 i like because it doesn't rely heavily on long cutscenes or drawn-out storylines. i mainly enjoy it because it's a pretty accurate WW2 combat simulator (unlike most of the following WW2-based CoD games) and i've been slightly obsessed with WW1 & 2 weaponry since i was a kid.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, my favourite out of all the Oddworld games. maybe because it holds a lot of nostalgia for me, i dunno. also i prefer the atmosphere in AO, things seemed grittier and more dangerous. even your buddies (the mudokon natives in Monsaic Lines) would kill you outright with a slingshot if you tried messing with them. it's a very unforgiving world and a lot more 'no nonsense' than AE, for example, which was a hell of a lot more jokey and light-hearted. plus the Stockyards/Free-Fire Zone are my absolute favourite areas, the ambience is mysterious and haunting and there are fucking dead mudokons impaled on spikes. you don't get anything as dark as that in AE. fucking cool, man.

Medieval: Total War 1 & 2, not for the battle simulator, but for the management side of the gameplay. i don't bother with the real-time battle simulator if i ever enter combat, i usually select 'resolve battle automatically' when playing the game and concentrate on managing my country and taking over the world or whatever my agenda is. stats play a big part so if you go around executing all the prisoners you capture, you'll earn dread points. if you sell your captives, you'll earn extra gold. if you release them without any charge, you'll earn chivalry points or something (i can't quite remember). all of these things can unlock other possibilities/stats for you to expand on too. you also have stats for your generals and family members like loyalty, acumen, piousness etc, meaning people can betray you if their loyalty is low and you don't keep an eye on them. you can hire assassins, merchants, priests, marry off your daughters if you have any to try and solidify alliances, it's so cool. it's a better medieval simulator than Mount & Blade, for instance.

there are more games but that'll do, pig. that'll do. this post is long enough.

i've never played the game but i fucking love the short story. Harlan Ellison is a crotchety old fucker but i can't help but love him and his writing style.
:
Since those settlements Ellison has initiated legal action or takedown notices against more than 240 people who have allegedly distributed his writings on the Internet, saying, "If you put your hand in my pocket, you'll drag back six inches of bloody stump".

The Mother series, so EarthBound and Mother 3 with the translation patch. Excellent games with an impressive balance of humor and emotion. I've always been intrigued by the Mother series and now I get to play Earthbound without dealing with pesky graphical glitches from an emulator. By a fairly wide margin what I consider my 'most best favouritest' game series.

Resident Evil 4 and The Mercenaries 3D are by far my favourite action games. RE4 is worth replaying an unlimited number of times. It appeals to my enjoyment of head-splosions, shooting catholics in the knee, and bad (I mean SHITTY BAD) action movie dialogue.

I've put more time and energy into Team Fortress 2 than any other multiplayer game, with the arguable exception of my time spent across the Dark Souls Series. TF2 is always fun and still feels satisfying to get back into just to shake the rust off of my skills at the game.
Fun fact: I've never had a computer powerful enough to run TF2 at anywhere close to max settings, so tons of my skill in the game has relied on muscle memory and correct timing to accommodate frame drops. Despite the game being close to a decade old now, I'm still chasing that dream of bothering to get a computer decent enough to run it functionally so I can get REALLY good. Still, I've put something like 2-3000 hours in it over the last eight years.

And finally, the Souls series. Easily the most well-crafted, traditionally concepted game series currently on the market. Dark Souls 3 looks absolutely phenomenal and I've loved everything that preceded it, for better or worse. Dark Souls 2 wasn't exactly the strongest entry in the series, but the soul is back in Souls and it looks excellent.

I forgot about that game, I swear no one seems to talk about it when they mention Jak games but it was really fun. Shame my copy was all scratched up and tended to crash when saving. No PCSX2 support yet either. :/

Despite playing a shit ton of Dota 2 these past few years, TF2 is still my favorite PC game. You can pick up that game at any point, even just for a few rounds, and it'll still be fun.

Resident Evil 4 is definitley one of my favourite games, too. The gameplay is so smooth and satisfying, and the atmosphere is perfect. I could play it for hours straight and not get tired.

I should go back and play the old ones, not huge fan of survival horror though. I'm an actionfag.
Mostly, I'm a pussy, though.

I dont believe so. Maybe through a cheat.
