Photo 3 - Undiscovered
It's a new transmission from The Spirit of 1029 - but this one appears to be inside a passworded zip file... To get started, click the big Download Files button above.
First clue:

8 9 9 2 8 5 5 4 _ E equals 5....

So that number could be the password? So:

8 9 9 2 8 E E 4?? With that logic, the numbers would change to "H I I B H E E D"

I'm so ready for more puzzles

Also, the png file is called Vital...

If E equals 5 then I think we should use something like this:

Meaning 89928554 = HIIBHEED ?

EDIT: Note that 8992 & 8554 were the solutions to the mastermind puzzles in the previous transmission: http://oddworld.wikia.com/wiki/Souls...d_transmission

I tried a few Caesar ciphers, and a keyword cipher using "vital" as the key, but got nothin' so far... Tho I didn't try all the Caesar combos

EDIT 1: Oh... E=5 has been here a while:

EDIT 2: using a caesar cipher of 7, you get oppiollk, which is an anagram of "kill poop" :') Don't think that's the right answer hahaha

EDIT 3: Did we ever use the ALPHANUMERICALLY clue? That feels very relevant to this puzzle...

This is what I could find that was previously discovered:

:
8992 = HIIB
8554 = HEED
(Placement of letters in the alphabet)

I thought I was onto something with 'Heed' but then realised the first one doesn't make a word ahah

Hiibheed in quipquip gives us the word 'Annually'
Note that I have no idea how quipquip came up with that and that last time we tried to shortcut puzzles Asset98 died. :/

8992

8554

E=5OUEHRA? (?=U)

So glad this is back and yeah let's try not to kill any more muds, although, I still wonder if that was our fault or inevitable that the gluks would something like that.

Anyway, just a quick question, what is the Alphanumerical clue? Just wondering if e = 5 could be it's place in an arranged alphabet or some kind of cypher key to put to the alphabet before applying to number code.

EDIT: Just had a thought while looking through prev clues on the wiki. I have started looking for key words to previous puzzle solutions that have E has their 5th letter and then assigning each letter a number from 1 upwards. I tried Subjectivism (the grid puzzle answer) but only got IVVUIEEJ which probably won't give us much....

Drunk Password Zip

This is Just a theory, but we have 4 unsolved "things":

•the Number 8992
•the Number 8554
•the Word "SEVENTYTHREE"
•the solution "U" at the E=5 question

So we can use 8992855473U and tranform it into Letters (and the U in the Number 21
So: HIIBHEEDGC21 But it doesn't mean nothing!

AlexanderG please don't multi post, use the edit button instead.

Also I don't think we should use quipquip as it is actually similar to trying to brute force the solution.

And last time we tried that Asset98 died.

Is that why asset 98 died? And what do you think our next step should be?...I don't know where to get started in regards to these password protected files.

After taking a break and returning to staring at this again, I have a new theory.

We have E = 5OUEHRA? and 89928554. Looking back at the mastermind puzzle that this 2nd number appeared from, I notice they have F's next to them. What if F = 89928554 and then the question is what is E. Either the code is 5OUEHRA? and we figure out the ? or we have to turn E into a number code once we have ?.

The reason I think we have to find ? as I feel it may not be U from Sunday. It could be that this code could turn into a number pattern and from the pattern we have our mystery digit. I have a good feeling we need to use the E code for the password as it coincidentally is the same length as our F code.

I have tried turning the letters into numbers which gives me a code of 5, 14, 21, 5, 8, 18, 1, 14 (Substituting ? for U). This didn't work. I also tried turning the 2 digit numbers into single digit numbers by adding their digits to together for 55358915 which didn't work either.

I'm gonna try a few more angles with this but hoping that bringing this idea to the table that someone else way more observant than myself can see something I can't.

Ah, yes! I'm so ready to get back into this

Okay, so we know it most likely has something to do with the E = 5OUEHRA? puzzle from last time. E = 5 on it's own just makes it a regular A1Z26 cipher since E is the 5th letter anyway, but hiib heed doesn't mean anything. The OUEHRA? part must be key. Maybe to a keyword cipher? The fact that it's the second letters to the days of the week seems important. I'm not sure if it's relevant at all, but 'Wednesday' is the only day of the week where "E" is the 5th letter. I may be barking up the wrong tree with that one though xD

I feel the same way about the e=5 bit not being enough on it's own - but the zip file literally says "Eequals5", so I'm not sure what to think... In what case wouldn't E = 5? That way, we would actually have somewhere to apply the clue...

What do you want from us, O' Hands of Odd??

I agree, it definitely feels like that E = 5 is really impossible and I bet we are missing something obvious. This is gonna bug me so much that sleeping will be impossible.....

Maybe E= 5 is to tell us to work out the word in a specific way. The number was originally 8992 and 8554 separately but as their filenaming structure doesn't use spaces, we're seeing it as one number?

So for 8554 we know E = 5 so maybe we have _EE_.

Seed? feel? As there's an 8 in 8992 we would then have to find a word with that letter and a different double letter (most likely another vowel)

EDIT: I have tried this out but got nowhere. I found a bunch of words that fit the *EE* pattern and listed them out. I then realised that for the second word that the only other vowel that could work as a double letter was 'O', so I tried for each word I found for the first word taking the first letter and find words that matched a *OO* pattern and found a few more words. I put the two words together each time I found a match and had no luck. Most of the word combinations sounded like nonsense anyway like 'foolfeed'....

I may have missed some words or combinations out of tiredness so there may still be ground to this theory. Hope this helps. I'm off for bed.

We may be thinking too hard into this. Since Soulstorm's a remake of Exodus, any words or phrases from that game do you think could fit?

I tried some of the ones 1029 have repeat used in the past, like 'Rise', 'Storm', 'Spirit', 'Truth', 'Flame', 'Spark' (uppercase and lowercase) just to check and didn't get anything for those ones. But it could very well be a word or phrase.

First couple fixed up, working on the third.

e: Added final flyer, but also the hardest one.
e2: Added a better version of one.

I do not know which flyer is which as I obtained these second-hand.

e3: The password to the .ZIP is HIIDHEED .... pretty sure it should have been HIIBHEED? Anyway.... moving on. Vital.png and Oddworld_Soulstorm_002_HD.jpg seem to be identical except for the different file formats, and toollist.txt is long as a mother and will take some time to comb through.... Not sure what to make of it, yet.

e4: Gottem

e5: Updated flyer3 to an even more legible version

Also, good job!

Edit; I'm not sure if this is relevant or how old it is but I just checked the HTLM code of the 1029 site and it says "Well, I //--/ED Mudokon/. But who// _____r///u/ //?".
