As she saw Stranger, along his back with Abe and Kirk, and Josh, with Steven on his back as well, she thought of how to get out of the labs. Or how to die a quick death. As she thought, a slab of metal roofing crashed down on her foot. A snap and crack will tell us all, that her foot definetely broke. But that didn't slow her down. Well, actually it did, but not mentaly. She ran down the metal walkways, still dodging cement and metallic roof that fell in front of her. She saw her friends runnig above her, far away on a wall walkway. They were going much faster than last time. Another chunk of cement broke the walkway behind her, slanting down, and making it harder for her to climb the walkway. She couldn't climb back up the broken walkway without hurting her broken foot. She fell down the black bottom of the labs. She was slammed down on another lower walkway, but startled her immediately when she got up. A whole bunch of explosives was right behind her. Luckily, no fires were near them. She ran away from the explosives, but turned around right when a chunk of roof fell near the explosives. Small sparks dressed around the explosives, as the roofing scraped on the walls. But that didn't make her run as fast as she could. A small flame on the cement started to spread near the explosives. What seemed as a near-good life, she thought it has come to an end. When the flames touched the explosives, the whole place shattered behind her tail. She turned her head behind her as she ran. The flames approaching her rapidly in her eyes. She screamed, as the flames engulfed her, and the rest of the labs.
Stranger and the others had escaped the labs near the nick of time, before they saw the flames explode out of the windows, and the front door. They climbed up to the farthest, safest point of the mountain, and watched the labs crumble apart. Wolvarks, Sligs, even Vykkers ran out of the labs of the front door, running around in pure pain, as flames caught on them. Abe, Kirk, Steven, and Josh were cheering behind Stranger's back. Happy only for no more Vykker's labs. Stranger still stood at the edge of the mountain, watching the labs engulf in flames. A small smile crept on the corner of his mouth, as a tear slowly fell down his cheek. Josh put a reassuring hand on his shoulder, giving him a smile as well. "It's over. Be happy a lil', will ya?" Josh whispered. Stranger nodded to him, but looked back down at the labs. What didn't make him happy all the way was that one person was missing. One that would be missing for the rest on his young life. He saw a flock of black dots rise from the roof of the labs, but he thought they were only birds. But the birds weren't going away from them, they were approaching them, with something at the bottom of their arms. As they got closer, it came to view. Paraflyers were coming towards them, with a ruffled black body. The Paraflyers actually turned out to be the Slig brothers, which he was surprised to see them alive. And the ruffled burned body was the ruffage of Slogann. "How the hell'd you make it out?" Stranger asked. "Simple. Right when the labs exploded, we swooped down, 'cause we know that someone was down 'ere. We saved Slogann 'ere, and we wanted to surprise you actually," Jam said, all of the Sligs landing. The others surrounded around Stranger's shoulders. "Is she....alive?" someone whispered over his shoulder. Stranger knelt by Slogann's legs, seeing her foot that was broke. Her mouth was slightly open, and her tongue lollying out. He put his hand in front of her mouth, hoping for a feeling of hope. He felt small hot breaths brush along his hand. He sighed in relief, putting his hand on her ribs. "She's fine," he announced over his shoulder. One of her ears twitched up, and her eye opened. "What the...hell," she rasped, lifting her head. "I'm...alive?" "No, no, no. Put yer head down, Slogann. Yeh need's teh rest for a while," Jam pushed her head back down on the grass. "What'a disappointment," she whispered, closing her eyes again.
