I obviously don't know how the actual gameplay would work, since I was never privy to OWI's every thought and idea on MO, only what the Designer Diaries say. That said, one of the level "scripts" Paul O'Connor describes (there's a word he uses, not scripts, it'll come to me at an awkward moment, trust me) is for the FlubCo Fat Fuels Facility, where after sneaking through the Mudflub Pens and into the building (with the help of Munch swimming through a pipe filled with fat and other cack), Abe takes control of Lulu, who can then be used to control the factory - divirting the flow of extracted fat, for instance, so it doesn't leak into the river.
One thing Paul (I think it was Paul, it might have been some other Inhabitant in a magazine) talked about was the issue of implementing the Lulu concept without making Lulu as much of a star as Abe and Munch, the latter especially, since it's his first game, not Lulu's. What they ended up doing does make great sense, so I do respect OWI for that decision, and don't hold it against them at all. It would have been fun to issue orders by controlling Lulu, but then we didn't have the GameSpeak capabilities in the finished game.
