They're also apparently going to be integrating the windows 7 phones with kinect so they can video chat with people as well. Or so I've read.

Fuck Apple.

I kind of want a Windows phone but they're a bit pricey and I'm not completely sure if they even sell them yet in Finland.

Anyways, back on topic, I've been playing a lot of Blur today. I can see how someone (JennyGenesis ) could easily get hooked on the game, it is really good.

I also borrowed Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions from my friend and I think it's fucking terrible. I understand if some spiderman fan would play it and like it but it's definitely not for me, it's way too repetitive and the jumping and moving feels too light. It's really dumb.

Still playing Dead Space 2, really fun. Im in the Unitology Church and just fought some raptor enemies.

Anyone plan on getting Trenched tomorrow? Id be more enticed to buy it if I I knew I had some people to play with, probably gonna buy it anyways though.

That sounds pretty sweet, shame I don't really have enough Xbox friends to take advantage of it.

I got mine at a nice deal and don't regret it at all. It's got a few issues (no custom ringtones, no multitasking), but the Autumn update's gonna iron out pretty much all of them. Until then, the phone's already sweet, and I'm in love with the UI.
tl;dr if you can get one at a fair price, jump on it.

...On-topic, I'm finding the AC: Brotherhood multiplayer fairly interesting. I like how big a part stealth plays, but at the same time I don't like how you're essentially a sitting duck if you're the target.

I also picked up New Vegas; haven't really gotten far into it yet but from what I've seen it's pretty much FO3 with a less serious tone.

F:NV is also worse than 3. There are some neat, new features, but they don't make up for the old, buggy engine and worse areas. One of the areas is a big airfiled with nothing in it. There are no items to pick up and there are simply a few radscorpions walking around. None of the areas in FO3 were just empty like that.

Those were the bits in-between areas. In this game there is actually a location marked on your map that is just a fucking empty airfield. There are lots of areas that, like that, do nothing. In Fallout 3 they were almost all big enemy strongholds, buildings with locked doors/chests containing money or towns.

I do agree that both games feel empty while you're exploring. They argue that it's supposed to be empty because you're in a wasteland, but that's just fucking stupid.

I'll be the first to say that I haven't played that far into the game yet I just had my first run in with the legion (and killed them all because what the fuck their insane) but personally a big fucking airfield sounds awesome.

Gotta use your imagination.

I'm a sucker like that

But it's not that huge and there's nothing interesting there. There are neither planes nor buildings that you can enter. It's just a big asphalt area.

I haven't played far enough into New Vegas to make a comparison, but as memory serves there's a huge amount of nothing in FO3. There's like, five towns with three people living in them, huge amounts of empty wasteland, masses of barren subway tunnels, completely pointless ruined buildings, and areas that do have interesting shit in them have about one room worth exploring (the room with the item you're looking for).

So you're basically complaining that it has a certain amount of realism rather than being overtly like a game?

I'm not complaining, just pointing out that FO3 was emptier than Phylum's making out.

Any game designer that puts realism before fun is, to an extent, doing a bad job.

One of the big mistakes they made in Fallout 3 and NV was making it a convincing wasteland. There are big, empty areas that are just fucking stupid. It's just that more of the locations in NV are pointless.

*shrug*

I haven't played any of the Fallout games, so I can't comment specifically. But I can say that I find games that have me falling over weapons caches or enemy targets every two steps annoying. There's got to be a balance between plausibility and gaminess, otherwise the game is less fun.

I liked New Vegas. Being Desert based, it was a lot more brown than 3, but once you actually get into New Vegas it's not such a big deal. I liked the fact that you didn't spend 60% of your quests in subway tunnels this time. That's probably what I hated most about 3. Everyone said 3 was 'Oblivion with guns', and I agree in the sense that in oblivion every cave and dungeon looked identical, as did every god damned subway tunnel in fallout. I mean I understand it's a subway and they're all fairly uniform, but come on.

On the subject of phones, we were going to get a windows phone, but decided to get the Google G2X because all of our friends had such nice things to say about Android phones, plus we generally trust google. We're really happy with it. But we're not phone junkies/snobs who upgrade to the latest and greatest every six months. Prior to this we've had the same phone for a few years.

I borrowed Halo 3 from a friend due to being sick of everything else I have. I've played through Halo 3 for 3 separate people on three different Xbox's, but I was surprised to find I'd forgotten almost all of the game. Still pretty fun, but none of the weapons feel at all satisfying.

Also, I was surprised at how much I actually liked Fallout 3. Would you folks say that New Vegas is a worthy purchase at 25$? I really hated having big chunks of Downtown DC blocked by obstacles.

Playing UT2004 again.... That game never gets old. I may take occasional breaks from it, but when I start again, it never lets me down =D I wish I was any good at it though. lol.

I think next month, I may buy Terraria. I've been watching TotalHalibut on yt the last week... And Imust say, it's some of the most entertaining gaming-related videos I've ever watched. His persona is just really... Enjoyable.
And he reviews a lot of games, both indie and popular. It's a very good channel for casual gamers. Anyway, it made me wanna try terraria. And before anyone goes off on Minecraft, no I don't really wanna play minecraft. I think I like the simplicity of Terraria more. Well I have to try it first of course.

I was going to get minecraft, but then I got fortresscraft. Because I lose interest in pc games. But slouched on my couch? endless fun. I can't remember if you have a 360 or not. If you do, get it and come build with me. Well, you and Chris. Then you can come build with me and Elvis. Our world is pretty okay so far, but it would be neat to have more people collaborating on it.

I'm playing a bit of Abe's Exoddus on the side of Majora's Mask. I'd play Exoddus more, but my tolerance level for frustration is at an all-time low. I know Majora's like the back of my hand, though, so it's a great game to play right now. Still my favourite Zelda game, too.

Me and a friend were tempted to get that, but the epidosodic nature of it prevented us. Dont they add new things to each new one, so is it like DLC, or are they stand alone things?

Oh, you mean the chapters? I think there's going to be something like 7 chapters in total, but they're going to be spaced so far apart that it won't really hurt your experience. They'll be treated like DLC, and inbetween each chapter they do free updates/patches which fix minor bugs/add new content to the current chapter for free. It's completely open-ended and without goals, so it's not like you can really get to the 'end' of chapter 1 and have to wait for chapter 2 or anything. I don't know, I've killed a lot of time with it. Probably one of the best indie games I've played to date, and you can do a lot with it, even in its fetal stages.

A lot of people are bitching and calling it a minecraft clone, which I guess it currently is, but after reading what they have in store, it definitely sounds like it's going to be a totally unique and completely different game with just a similar foundation.

tl;dr :

not stand alone, each chapter is like dlc, free updates/patches that add new content inbetween chapters are released every 5-12 weeks, worth the 240 points.

Oh okay, my biggest worry was that I would buy Chapter 1 and then have to buy each new chapter to get new content, Ill have to give it a try then.

I really really wish i had a 360 It has a lot of great titles(it has fable 2 i think)... But Im kind poor in that regard X) Also I don't have a tv, but Im sure the comp screen could be set up to work with Xbox.
Eeeh you people and consoles X( I wish people could play together cross platforms )=
I loved the fact that Chris at least had a ps3... I like backseat gaming. Specially on consoles. But here at home, It's just me and my trusty computer and to a lesser extent my laptop.
