It doesn't *really* look like a proper gas mask. Maybe they use that opening to attach a tube to the mask and pump something for that poor mud to breathe.

Or it's kind of a punishment. You make a mistake, you must wear the mask, that inhibits your oxygen intake. Remember: "Why is it so hard to breathe?"

Ohh that's a good thought - I was thinking it might be a mud in the mines wearing a mask so he doesn't breath in dust and die quicker

I think there's something behind that mud, but I'm not sure. Perhaps it's only somekind of background. It's hard to figure it out.

After that "hard breathing" thing, I saw enough for today. We used what we can't see to see some hella creepy shit

Edit: I seriously don't know what else we can get from that quote. I think it was helpful only to find the image we have now.

Yeah it does, with something around it but it may be the photo that's a little ruined.

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking this page a long time and think the work you all do is amazing!!!!!

Honestly I don't understand how you do it!

My only thoughts on the subject are so far... I'm so sorry if they aren't useful, I'm new to forums In general!!

So exodus is the (legendary) game that took 9 months to make, and soulstorm is (hopefully!!) going to be the full story! As we've been seeing this with Vyykers labs.

Remember the gases? In exodus they were more of an obstacle so that you could save the mudokens but from the images they are coming across as more of a form of control, I've also noticed a constant theme of testing (see picture 3 soul storm strain 100101bh) I don't know but I feel like the mudoken in the new image is having the gases tested on him as a form of control, which one ends up with the desired result.

On further note my sister transferred the image into negative, she works in an alternative antique shop and straight away pointed out that the gas mask is capped, where there should be a tube it is infact capped, don't know if this helps but it might make "breathe" make sense.

Also is there a chance of a reflection in the eye in the negative, could be clutching at tiny straws.

Furthermore, if the game isn't released on the 29th of October I'll be so sad!

Also that "Mask" side-hole, can be used to connect to a gas hose of some kind...

The logos are arranged such that on the left side of the logos going down, it spells out "HELP"
Taking the lowercase letters, you spell out "mask"
And the rightmost letter on the logos can spell out "STOP"
And then the remaining capital letters in the logos spell out "DON'T LET US DIE"

Good Work Everyone!!! This pic is so diffrent if i recall remember the laughning Gas which was a yellow colour and if the muds breathed it in they would go slapstick crazy so i wonder if they being tested to diffrent types of Gas?

I can't help but wonder what kind of gas they are using and why? It can't be to kill them because to them it would be a waste of labor and resources, maybe it's to try and make them more docile?

I like the idea that the gas masks are used in the mines. I remember a post on the forums not that long ago where someone theorised that in Soulstorm they were going to get rid of the exploding farts and make it so that the brew itself was flammable. Maybe going along the same lines of change the laughing gas will be changed to a toxic gas, so the gas masks are needed for Abe and Mudokons to pass through/work in certain areas?

Also is it just me or does it look like the Mudokon in the pic has something really wrong with its eyes? It looks all puffy/swollen right below the eye, maybe a sign that it has undergone the tear extraction procedure?

The eyes do look swollen but not in this image, to me anyway. The eyes look swollen in the picture with a mud in a chamber, but do remember that mud eyes do naturally pop out a little bit.
