And don't even get me started on his ability to whistle/chant like a native mudokon before coming to the native lands when he grew up in an industrial facility where he couldn't learn any of these skills.
|
Abe’s ability to chant was considered as something to be learnt partway through the game, just as his stitches would have been removed after his escape, allowing hm to speak for the first time. It was decided that the game would be more appealing if he could GameSpeak and possess from the get-go.
:
yeah I remember hearing they were worshipped as well. The whole 'Black sheep tribe' thingy might explain why there wasn't a Meech tribe present in any of the games.

The "black sheep tribe" is the one I mentioned, Mudoncho. It's entirely fanon.

I don't think Kintos would really be revered as sacred animals considering they were a sentient race of mountain dwellers.
|
Scrabs and Paramites are sentient, too, else how would they know Abe was there to chase? But who says they're sapient? The only clue to their classification we have is that they were used as the link to the Wildlife section of the old Oddworld.com.
:
His lips were stitched by Sam when he was a baby because he cried too much.

And Sam is held captive by the Vykkers. And Abe was hatched from an egg in RuptureFarms 1029. All of these are true.

When you think about it, it's kind of weird that a large industrial farm/meat factory would even let a species go extinct. It's a grabbing moral in the story, yes, but if Molluck had any sense of business he would have kept a few Meeches back for breeding.
It's like every farmer on the planet is going to stop breeding cows and in a year we'll all go; ah bummer no more steaks, cows are extinct. It doesn't make sense.

It's about as absurd as loggers destroying ever-scarcer rainforest at an increasing rate, or farmers building irrigation systems that drains their entire source of water. Absurd, yes; stupid, yes; happens in our reality, yes.
