I thought they were designed to be in the game, but were cut for time and incorporated as backstory.

Regardless of their original involvement in the first draft, their extinction is canon and it helped to drive the point home. An entire race wiped out because Khanzumers ate them to death. That shit is hardcore.

I'd like to see a living Meech, even if it's just a flashback or a vision or grainy old wildlife footage.

Are you boring? I guess you do...

I think that Meeches in AO are incredibly good idea - for flashback definitely. We deserve to look forward for extinct species.

Meeches should not be in the remake in any way shape or form apart from the poster a the start. It'd change the game waaay to much. They should save them for a later game...but only a few. They are extinct after all.

Oh and this may sound a bit stupid but was there any reason why we never saw a Meech temple similar to the Scrab or Paramite temple??? I know Meeches are extinct an all but I just thought thier might be a temple somewhere....

As far as we know, Meeches were never worshipped as spiritual creatures.

This is what MTV has to say about "Abe HD". The Oddworld franchise is "not a little bit entertaining" according to MTV, which is perhaps a little bit hypocritical coming from one of the least entertaining music channels around (if you can call them a "music channel").

I think there were a supposed black sheep tribe of the Mudokons who worshipped Meeches but they died along with them, or sooner, most likely. Other Muds deny this. :P

Also, Adam obviously doesn't proofread his work or get it proofread, because it sounds like he's praising the game and then putting it down right after. The last sentence of his article doesn't make the least bit of sense to me. So I'm inclined not to listen to him.

If there were Meeches in the stock yards...pretty sure they'd have been found, that's like a Playstation Warehouse not knowing they got a hundred PS1s in some corner.

I think the last bit is a positive statement, like 'You haven't half grown'. He's saying they're not a little bit entertaining, they're a big bit entertaining. That's how it comes across to me, anyway.

I'd like to see some of the story elements from the old plans reinstated. Like the stitches only being removed when he escaped from RuptureFarms, and the growing ponytail in AE showing his spiritual development.

I think the Mudoncho tribe is more of a Nod than a Gorman Disenza, but I am certain there were Mudokon tribes that worshipped Meeches.

In my opinion, Abe's ability to speak through stitches is a poor story element. If Rupture Farms is supposed to be the big bad meat processing plant on Oddworld, they should be able to at least stitch mudokons' lips properly. And don't even get me started on his ability to whistle/chant like a native mudokon before coming to the native lands when he grew up in an industrial facility where he couldn't learn any of these skills.

yeah I remember hearing they were worshipped as well. The whole 'Black sheep tribe' thingy might explain why there wasn't a Meech tribe present in any of the games. Plus I guess thats kinda backed by the fact that Shrykull dosent actually include any Meech parts (it shows that thier not that important). Hmmm. I wonder if theres another god thats like half Meech ,half something else?? dunno what it'd be though ... Maybe Kinto??? I mean Kinto's lack legs and have big arms, and Meechs have nice legs and only smidgy arms. Im pretty sure that there's a good combo to be made there.

Speaking of Kinto's I would actually like to see them in a future game as well. Just though i'd add that.

To be fair Pac-Maniac, there is sufficient evidence to suggest that just because Rupture Farms is big, doesn't mean it's a big bad factory. They have crap guards who sleep at every opportunity, and the stitching of the lips was botched...also we don't know much about Abe's back story other than that he was born and grew up in RF. Besides, it'd be a fucking boring as game if he couldn't chant because he can't shoot and he can't punch.

I don't think Kintos would really be revered as sacred animals considering they were a sentient race of mountain dwellers. I guess what I'm saying is that they would be doing the worshipping, not being worshipped.

His lips were stitched by Sam when he was a baby because he cried too much. These naturally have worn out over the years allowing him to talk.
