I think that's how most people did it. I certainly didn't pay enough attention to Cave to figure it out.

I feel like I was the only person who did sometimes.

He keeps going on and on about how they spent billions of dollars importing moon rocks to grind up into portal-conducive paint.

Then the moon dust gives him lung cancer or something.

I actually managed to defeat Wheatley by a complete accident, I was at the very end of the fight where you are lying on the floor with the portal gun in your hand, I saw the moon and I thought just for the hell of it that I would shoot the moon, I had no clue that it was how you defeat Wheatley, made me chuckle.
Yeah, me too. I thought to myself "I wonder if they've handled what will happen if people shoot up there. I'll give it a try and then afterwards work out what I'm meant to be doing here."

It actually didn't register until I read the last few posts (which I read after I submitted my last post, what with the new page and all) that Cave had been foreshadowing it all along. I just thought it was a funny gag.

The setup was exactly the same as the climax of Mirrors Edge, so I knew exactly what I was doing.

Though yeah, the foreshadowing didn't occur to me until months later.

Rayman Origins, it's perfect! I beat it the other day but I'm still playing for Achievements. I was never a fan of Rayman but the demo for this game converted me; everything from the level designs to the critters reminds me of Earthworm Jim 2 which is one of my all times favs. Sad that it sold so poorly, I'd love a sequel...

I checked out the demo for Asura's Wrath today.

I really, really don't know what to say about this game. There were two playable... "levels" and both were pretty absurd. It's like the game doesn't really know what it wants to be, it changes from quick-time events into a buttonsmasher and then turns into a shooter. It's really bizarre.

I also didn't really get the anger/burst system; you punch a shitload of things and get a full red meter and then you grow four extra arms... ? It's really really strange.

I did like the art style quite a lot though, other than that it was really weird and didn't seem that good.

Oh and the music for the second level in the demo was really fucking stupid, you're in the middle of a huge fight and there's some stupid Japanese ambient music playing. Whaaaat.

And I couldn't help but laugh at the moments when they yelled at each other in the fighting scenes. It was so DBZ style that it was actually pretty awesome.

"YOU ARE NO MATCH TO ME, ASURA! I AM A GOD!"

"I WILL DESTROY YOU, WYDEN! I AM ASURA! BRAAAAAARGH!"

stuff about asuras wrath
I really love the art style, but when I heard it was mostly QTEs I became disinterested. Apparently the game director is an artist, so thats probably why it goes for presentation over gameplay. Never the less, Ill try out the demo.

Just beat Saints Row 3, what a fun ass game. Beat the alternate ending as well, I still want more. What I would pay for a New Game + in that game.

Now that I've given it more time I actually like it quite a bit. It seems sort of linear compared to the previous games, but still fun. Still fucking hate the brutes, though.

I will warn you there is another bad section later on in the game, with more tutorials essentially. Brutes are pretty easy by the end of the game, you have so many cool weapons and shit. I prefer the arm cannon or whatever its called.

Picked up Star Fox 64 3D a couple of days ago. A really good remake. Plays just as good as the original and looks amazing. The only problem I have with it is that it lacks online multiplayer which is really disapointing because It would be a great game online. Also the price is a bit high for what it really is. A remake with a couple of new features. It's a good job I got it pre-owned

I beat Rage last night. I guess I could scrabble a bad review of it.

The story of the game is (in a nutshell) that you start up in an Ark shelter where some people were stored before a meteor named Apophis hit the earth, and you wake up and when you go outside, a huge part of the world has turned into a wasteland and there are bandits, regular people, mutants (though the mutants weren't caused by the meteor, the people turned into mutants because the authority did some nanotrite experiments on them and they failed really badly.) and 'the authority' fighting over for supplies and such.

As you are an Ark survivor, the authority are after you, and the regular bandits just want to kill you to turn you in to the authority and the rest of the people are regular town folk who just want to survive.

You have to do tasks for the mayor of the city you go to, Wellspring, and then you join up in a resistance group who are against the authority's plans and you end up in their base later on in the game, which is beneath a city called Subway Town. Or something like that. Then you kill the authority guys and everything is ok.

Really. Such an uninteresting story. Not to mention the graphical issues (texture pop-in) and the boring enemies. Only enemies I found a *bit* interesting were the Jackal bandits, and there's really only one part later on in the game where you have to go to their bunker. Laaaaame.

Meh, it was really.... dull. Not horribly bad, but just really dull and boring. All the guns were stupid except for the wingstick (which was actually a pretty neat weapon), the story is dull, the enemies look boring and yatta yatta yatta.

The mutants were also a very big letdown, they look like regular bandits with glowing eyes and ugly noses and the bigger mutants are something a 10 year old could have designed... One thing that was alright was the Mutant Bash TV part of the campaign. Other than that, it was just really boring and I felt frustrated at many parts because I just didn't really want to play it anymore. Took me about 13 hours to finish it, tried the multiplayer once, hated it. (It's vehicular combat...)

Co-op might be alright, but not really recommending it for anyone, even for hardcore id -fans. Also, the difficulty of the game is a letdown too, I beat it on hard on my first (and most likely last) playthrough and it was way too easy. Maybe nightmare is a bit different...

-------

Aaaanywaaays, I got Dark Souls today and I'm going to start playing it tonight. Friday night and I'm ready to get frustrated, woo!

Yeah fuck Rage, bring on DOOM 4!

I'm playing the first Sly Cooper atm and I'm sorry I didn't buy these games when they were on the PS2 because they're a lot of fun. Some of the mini-games are kind of annoying though, mostly the stuff with Murray, but some of them are fun so I appreciate the variety even though it's the stealth based levels where you play as Sly that rock. Plus Sly is just a fun guy and I wish there were more mascots with cool attitudes.

Well motherfucker. I was expecting Dark Souls to be hard, but this hard? Jesus I'm going to have a hard time beating this. If I beat it that is.

I'm now at the Undead Burg part and I got up to the Taurus Demon AND I fucking almost beat it, but then I accidentally rolled to his feet and he pummeled me to death in a matter of seconds. I do like the bonfire system, but the game is a bit unfair. I think they should have a map of some sort and before a boss there should always be a bonfire, I don't really feel like killing all those fucking undead guys again and again just to reach that demon and get my ass handed to me. Brutal game, that's for sure. But I did get what I expected and so far it has been really good. Extremely hard, but gives a lot of satisfaction when you defeat a tough enemy or reach a bonfire (checkpoint, basically) after a tough part.

To me Rage was a test for what is going to come, that's how I think of it, that's how it is. DOOM 4 plox!

I just loved all the doom and quake games and with every game comes a good exciting possibility.

I've been playing a buttload of games.

Uncharted 2 is just as good as they say it is, love the soundtrack particularly. It's extremely pretty. The writing isn't terrible.
It'sreally super-duper linear, though. The combat is very dynamic and fun, but actually going from place to place leaves me haunted by the thought that this is how everybody else did it!

Castlevania:Lord of Shadows. This is that newer Castlevania. It REEKS of Kojima with all of the cutscenes and the essays narrated by Patrick Stewart prior to every level. However, this also means that every combo and enemy gets a pretty interesting little info blurb. It's a massive collectathon too, occasionally you'll come across a corpsed conquistador and rummage through his clothes looking for gems to upgrade HP and magic. It's kind of a grindfest too, complemented by lots of respawning enemies worth a fair amount of XP. Also there was totally a cutscene with a Demon monster lady thing with tits all over the screen while my mom was vacuuming in the next room that I skipped and apparently missed a big stinky wad of plot in doing so.

Resistance:Fall of Mango is the fruitiest game I've ever played. It's quite difficult but there are mango smoothies lying around everywhere for you to pick up and regenerate health with. Also, VTOL aircraft in 1951? Go to your room, video games.

For some reason I got really hooked on Pokemon Emerald. Been playing it on an emulator on my PSP at work once in awhile. I don't really, y'know, give a huge shit about it, but it's some fun.

Pokemon Emerald is fucking awesome. Probably my favourite in the series, must've put around 300 hours into that game as a kid.

I picked up Borderlands for $20 at Futureshop the other day. Really fun game, the weapon system is addictive and the gameplay is a lot of fun. Recommended to anyone who likes shooters with an RPG twist.

The demos for Darkness 2 and Kingdoms of Amalur are downloadable now.

I just got through the Darkness 2 demo, I doubted it at first, but it really played well and the graphics were pretty cool. Sort of cartoonish though. The aiming down the sights was a bit slow, but I suppose that's how it's supposed to be anyways. I really want the game now, hah.

Trying out KoA: Reckoning right now ->.

Pokemon Gold remains my favorite Pokemon game. I also spent around so many hours on it when I was a kid.

Anyway, I've been playing Zelda: Skyward Sword, Zelda: Link to the Past on a emulator and I got a 3D Classics: Kid Icarus for my 3DS for free from the Nintendo Club.
I've actually got it before its released on the store which is cool It's still insanely hard like the original though. I would love to see some more NES/SNES Games remade with a 3D depth.

Gold version is a very, very close second. The fact that you could go back to Kanto after the main story was mind blowing.

Yeah it was, I remember thinking 'Wait? I'm not done yet?'

What really makes me nolstagic is the music. Hearing the wild battle theme on Heart Gold remastered for the first time gave me the biggest nostalgia orgasm so to speak Oh and the new pokemon in the second gen were really cool. (Totodile is a baddass) They stopped making really good pokemon after the forth gen in my opinion.

I could talk about Pokemon Gold all day. Seriously.

Playing trough Fallout: New Vegas to get the last few achievements I had to get and play trough the DLC.

Installing S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat, I saw a video of it running perfectly on the same Intel GFX processor that I have so it'll run better because I have more ram amount and Windows 7 (for the Vram), My modified driver has better performance as well.

Played the demo of Q.U.B.E..

It was okay. I'll buy it if it goes on sale.
