I beat Rage last night. I guess I could scrabble a bad review of it.
The story of the game is (in a nutshell) that you start up in an Ark shelter where some people were stored before a meteor named Apophis hit the earth, and you wake up and when you go outside, a huge part of the world has turned into a wasteland and there are bandits, regular people, mutants (though the mutants weren't caused by the meteor, the people turned into mutants because the authority did some nanotrite experiments on them and they failed really badly.) and 'the authority' fighting over for supplies and such.
As you are an Ark survivor, the authority are after you, and the regular bandits just want to kill you to turn you in to the authority and the rest of the people are regular town folk who just want to survive.
You have to do tasks for the mayor of the city you go to, Wellspring, and then you join up in a resistance group who are against the authority's plans and you end up in their base later on in the game, which is beneath a city called Subway Town. Or something like that. Then you kill the authority guys and everything is ok.
Really. Such an uninteresting story. Not to mention the graphical issues (texture pop-in) and the boring enemies. Only enemies I found a *bit* interesting were the Jackal bandits, and there's really only one part later on in the game where you have to go to their bunker. Laaaaame.
Meh, it was really.... dull. Not horribly bad, but just really dull and boring. All the guns were stupid except for the wingstick (which was actually a pretty neat weapon), the story is dull, the enemies look boring and yatta yatta yatta.
The mutants were also a very big letdown, they look like regular bandits with glowing eyes and ugly noses and the bigger mutants are something a 10 year old could have designed... One thing that was alright was the Mutant Bash TV part of the campaign. Other than that, it was just really boring and I felt frustrated at many parts because I just didn't really want to play it anymore. Took me about 13 hours to finish it, tried the multiplayer once, hated it. (It's vehicular combat...)
Co-op might be alright, but not really recommending it for anyone, even for hardcore id -fans. Also, the difficulty of the game is a letdown too, I beat it on hard on my first (and most likely last) playthrough and it was way too easy. Maybe nightmare is a bit different...

Aaaanywaaays, I got Dark Souls today and I'm going to start playing it tonight. Friday night and I'm ready to get frustrated, woo!
