All I've heard is that the second season is really boring and bad. Don't spoil anything about the first season though, I really want to watch it through.

You could probably watch the first episode of the second season, then skip all the way until the episode where they finish the arc they setup(you'll know what it is), and just watch the rest of season 2 after that one. In fact, that is what I'm going to recommend people do if they say they want to start watching it.

I tried watching the first episode of season 2 of Game of Thrones.

What a stupid, horrible fucking show. God damn it. Why is this popular? This is fucking TERRIBLE. It's GARBAGE. It's gross and a waste of my time. Fuck everything.

It's amusing in both a "wow, what interesting fantasy set design" way and a "oh man, who is going to get raped/killed/abused this week?" way.

Maybe I should try reading the books, I don't have anything good to say about the show. It felt like a disjointed mess, genuinely just a product of its own hype. Especially the 20 minute long title sequence Strike Witch posted. Oh, is the world they live ona giant machine? No? It's nothing but the fucking dark ages? Thanks for that 2 Trillion dollar CG animation that explained jack squat.
Especially the part where that Blond-Haired kid didn't get his skull crushed at any point.
I mean, at least those Spartacus shows have a reason for showing rampant buttfucking and fighting. Part of why I don't like it is definitely the sex. There were like three scenes that literally just open with women shrieking orgasms all over the castle/desert/fortress, which didn't tell me any more about the plot than they couldn't deduce hoiw to open a scene without some level of penetration.

Are the books written like this? 'And the magical boy dreamt he was a wolf, and then he woke up, and meanwhile, in another part of the castle, his mother/aunt/whatever was having a nursemaid raped, and the boy then dreamt he was a wolf again.'

I understand that people like it, but this is one of those things where I can say after extensive clinical trial and study that it is objectively fucking terrible. Nothing but hype. Of course, this could just be coming from the fact that I'm watching The Wire, which is perfectly written and perfectly shot and perfectly perfect.

The title sequence is fucking dumb, I'll give you that.

It makes sense for Kings Landing and the areas important to the intrigue plot surrounding that, but certainly not for the wall or the east.

I'm sure if I tried to watch more than just the first, third and last episodes of S1 and one episode of S2 I'd understand more of it, but even the pilot ends with incest buttsex. Fuck off. I mean, fuck off.

Anyway, here's a big post about The Wire.

I'm just finishing the 4th Season, which is a focus on the inner city school system. Micheal Lee, an abused 8th grader has to take care of his brother Bug across the season and handles most finances for his family, as his mother is a dope fiend. His friend Namond, son of notorious Corner Soldier Wee-Bey, is coerced into selling drugs on his own corner by his mother who'd grown accustomed to living off of residuals from the now-defunct Barksdale Organization, a gang that is the focus of the 1st and 3rd seasons. After her meal ticket runs out, she guilts Namond into selling himself instead of working as a 'Runner' under Bodie, another Barksdale soldier.

Despite the dissolution of Barksdale's crew, the West side of Baltimore is still under siege and disappearances are rampant. Marlo Stanfield, a particularly violent and efficient dealer, has been having his soldiers murder opposing dealers, thieves and snitches and sealing them inside abandoned houses using a nailgun. Chris Partlow, Marlo's right-hand man, takes a liking to Micheal Lee and begins training and advising him on how to be a soldier. Namond finds himself unready for working the corners at all, if ever. A program for disruptive/'corner' kids helps him turn over a new leaf and begin to see that entering the drug trade may be an awry decision.

What I really drew from this (and the billion little points and details I missed) was the polarizing way Micheal and Namond are depicted. Namond is boastful and vocal about how totally fucking great and hard he is, but he's lived conveniently and without worry. Micheal is quiet and well-mannered, but holds his family up singlehandedly and avoids any interaction with Dealers or the like at first. By the end of the season, Micheal-Lee is violent and unpredictable and has murdered the aforementioned Bodie. Namond is adopted by Colvin, a former Police Major who wants him to have a better life. Colvin actually goes and speaks to Wee-Bey, whom Colvin sent to a life sentence and recieves his blessing to adopt Namond.

I pirated the first season of Walking Dead, I just can't wait a week between the episodes.

I thought the second episode wasn't as good as the first one but it was good in its own way and the third episode was pretty good too, a bit better than the second one actually. A really interesting series so far in my opinion.

While I find aspects of the books interesting, they are really just an excuse for George Martin, who is a giant gross pervert, to be a giant gross pervert. I've actually told him so on his blog after he made his 100th creepy comment about actresses on the show. I have been banned from his blog.

I'm trying to think of the grossest thing in Game of Thrones to show you how tame boob jiggling is in comparison. The problem being that I can't choose just one.

Oh, yeah. He is the epitome of dirty old man. He actually linked to nude photos of one of the actresses on his blog. Another actress who has won the equivalent of the Oscar in Germany was outed by him to American audiences as having done porn before getting serious acting jobs. This was a big controversy in Germany when it was discovered, and she had made a few speeches asking people to let her put it behind her. But here comes fat, disgusting George Martin not even mentioning that she has won prestigious awards, just bellowing HEY GUYS WANT TO SEE HER WITH A DICK IN HER ASS.

He's gross, and he sucks.

How exactly does being a fan of the book make it better?
I mean, if the book is the same, then no thanks. If the book is different, like fundamentally different, why would you like the show?

How exactly does being a fan of the book make it better?
Because I'm viewing it as an adaptation rather than as an original work? The plot and characters are the same in the books, but there's lots of introspective details the series by definition can't show, while conversely there's scenes that just work better in visual media. I'm enjoying seeing the series from a new angle. Ambiguous characters that I had my own Ideas on are shown very different visually etc.

I've done this before with books to films, or games/manga to anime. I see the visual media from the perspective of someone who has already read the source material. An adaptation doesn't have to be the same to be a good adaptation, hell I would argue that a perfect replica, or 'safe', adaptation is actually far worse by definition than one that takes risks with the source material.

So I guess for me, the series would essentially count as 'fanservice'. That doesn't mean I'm necessarily a fan of midget fucking though.

Over the past week I watched the first season of Campus and the first season of The Hard Times of RJ Berger.

Campus was brilliant and I'm actually a bit pissed that it wasn't commissioned for another season, there was so much to do with that show. But, I guess the show needs ratings to live. Fuck people, just fuck them.

And the other one. That was funny as well but more of a less dark and more laugh at the trials and tribulations or a weedy looking dork with a huge ass shlong. And funny it was.

Any other good oul comedies that I should look at? More along the lines of Campus than anything else. And dark humor is good as well.

I watched the whole first season of Walking Dead. It was pretty intense in the end, really got me on the edge thinking what's going to happen next. It was great. Now I'm on the seventh episode of season two, I am still enjoying it even though it has lost a lot of season one's charm. It's still a good show in my opinion, it's just that it is proceeding pretty slowly. I like this show.

It's a terrible show. It's poorly written, half of it makes no goddamn sense at all, and most of the characters are fucking obnoxious. Without Shane they don't have a show. Whoops! Hello season 3!

Your points all stand except for the last one, Shane being alive was actually holding the show back a bit.

Yeah, I can't stand Walking Dead either. All of my friends love it, but I don't understand the appeal. It's fucking boring.

AMC fucks around, or tries to, with all of their shows. They apparently cut the budget for TWD in half for season two and made them have mostly indoor scenes. They have tried to do similar things with Breaking Bad and Mad Men, but the studios making them just threatened to go to other channels. AMC sucks.

Well I don't know what it is but I'm really enjoying it. I'm a sucker for zombie stuff and this pretty much beats most zombie movies and series out there. Shane is a complete fucking douche though, I hate that character. I'm now watching the eighth episode of S2 as we speak, it's okay but the series would've been infinitely better if it would've still taken place in the city, not this barn.

I do have to give the show a proper viewing. I've only seen 3 or 4 episodes from season 1 and a couple from season 2, and I just couldn't get into it at all. Maybe if I watched them in order I'd enjoy it more, I dunno.
