It's remarkable to see so many sapient species on one planet. Though it seems that few of them ever rise above their circumstance, leading to each species being extremely socially niched.

I read Maggie is the boss of Magog Cartel. Maggie is Octigi's, Gloktigi's and Glukkon's mother. So, they are all bound up to her and they are a very big family. And we know this. It's possible Kanzumers are the bosses of the bosses, and they control Maggie and all the Octigi family. But we don't see it in the games. It's possible Kanzumers are controlled by others superior species too.

Just wondering, what exactly did it say on the back of the AE manual, I've never played the game myself.

Not true at all. Maggie is the supposily the 'boss' of the Magog Cartel, and is the Glukkon queen. But she is NOT the mother of the ENTIRE Octigi family. You can't have Ogtici if you aren't even from that species. Maggie is a queen of Glukkons, not Oktigi. Gloktigi, maybe, but I think they are the result of Vykkers with too much Glukkon and Oktigi DNA on their hands. Family refers to how species are related, not strictly in the family as in mother, father, son, daughter, etc.

Khanzumers don't control the Magog Cartel. However, the Glukkons are dependent on the profits made from the products being bought from the Khanzumerz. Other than that, the Magog Cartel controls themselves.

Khanzumerz are just that: consumers. Whether or not they are a species or just the way Industrialists say "consumer" is another matter. I always thought it was nothing more than a joke by OWI. They said that consumers are the most important creatures on Oddworld (from the industrialist perspective) and then spelled it in that Oddworld style and made it sound as if they are a new species. Which may be exactly how the industrialists treat them.

Without the Khanzumerz, there would be no cause for the destructive of Oddworld's wilderness, which is why they're supposed to be the only evil creatures on Odworld, whether they mean it or not: almost every moment of their day is spent supporting the exploitation of Oddworld's resources by the most banal of decisions (such as the brand of shampoo brightener they choose to buy). This is a very accurate and poignant commentary on the real world.

You are perfectly correct, we never saw any. And we won’t until Abe gets closer to the big cities and the heart of consumerism, which won’t be until the end of the Quintology.

Ok, thanks, things seem alot clearer now.
Ok, just wondering, so Ocktigi is the family, and from that there are luckons, wait does that make Seckto and his mechanical pet things (Wait, aren't they called Ocktigi, now I'm realy confused)
On the subject of that, what were seckto's pets things, I'm assuming they're closer releated to Gluckons than seckto, and I've seen them in the art book, but those things were more mechnical than alive, or they seemed so, and they didn't seem to be intelligent, but I always thought they were before SW.
Sorry about my confusion, haven't played any OW games in a long time.

New argument. Mudombies are Mudokons's spirits. They are the spirits that Abe freed when he went in Mudomo and Mudanchee Vaults. And in Necrum. But in the artbook, we can see a sort of zombie with a Mudokon body. And we don't see it in the game. So, have Mudombies been originally designed to have a body? A dead and putrescent body I mean.

No, Mudombies are the zombie mudokons who got dropped from the game. The Mudokon spirits are called 'Mudokon spirits', amazingly; that said, the three that visited Abe are referred to as the 'Wierdos'.

Mudombies and mudokon spirits were always separate ideas. The spirits are the Weirdos who come to visit Abe, and what you release from spirit cages. Mudombies were the corpses of ancient mudokons up and about because of their spirit's unrest. But they were cut from Necrum, for whatever reasons.

New question . When do Fleeches vomit Slurgs? We know Slurgs are Fleeches's interiors, so when do they "make" new Slurgs?

Is it possible that is simply too much to put in one screen, even one level? I mean, Necrum is packed with stuff as it is. Like, on some screens, you would have Fleeches, Slurgs, Paramites/Scrabs, Abe, and some objects in the same screen. I'm sure that list didn't come along very often, but certainly a ton of stuff nevertheless. Another enemy in the picture that probably had some complicated programming would probably be way too much. Also, at some point, OWI would have to realize that they would be over their heads on a bonus game and might make it more difficult than necessary for the player to simply go through one area.

There’s very little evidence to suggest Mudombies would be gameplay characters, although even less to state they would be FMV‐only. All I can think of is a sentence or two from Stephen Pierce’s preview of Abe’s Exoddus in the October 1998 issue of the Official UK PlayStation Magazine:
:
New enemies are also the order of the day. Fleeches, the undead Mudombies, Greeters, Slurgs, Sloggies and many more infest the SoulStorm Brewery
I wouldn’t go by that generalized description of the game. For all we know, he was accidentally referring to Mudokon spirits rather than some earlier gameplay build.

But everything you say, Slaveless, about technical limitations could be very correct.

In my copy it says "Slurgs: The lowest form of Oddworld life, subsisting on the offal of fleeches. Hey, it's a living."

This implies that they eat the deceased remains and/or leftovers of fleeches.

Bleah! Anyway I have a new question. If Fleeches have been put in Oddworld sewers, why are they in Necrum? There is no way to reach it, because there aren't rivers in the desert. I don't know if there is a river that reaches Necrum through the jungle, but how can Fleeches be in Necrum if they were in the sewers?

The sewers could end up directly in the oasis, but the Glukkons’ building sewers that lead to the only profitable part of a desert and not just any part of it is too farfetched for my liking. There could be sewers leading from the Mines to the jungle, but there are no Glukkons there, let alone young ones that would keep pet Fleeches. All I can think of is that there are wells that lead from wherever some Glukkon sewers end up directly to Necrum.

Could be, but we don’t know of any.

Back in the days when I thought about making an Oddworld fanwork, I did imagine a retreating glacier as a gameplay region. Pot holing down crevasses and exploring glacier caves would be awesome. In gameplay and in real life.

I found this little factoid at the end of the trivia added to Wikipedia’s Oddworld article:
:
At the end of Abe's Exoddus, after the final FMV, There is also a screen with text that reads: "Coming in 2000: Munch's Oddysee." A voice is then heard that speaks: "And don't even think about running it on your measly 32-bit system."
I have and have completed both the PlayStation and Windows versions of AE and I don’t recall this. Does anyone?

Actually, the bonus video was on the PS version, so if you saved 99 Mudokons, you should have had the option to see it.

Due the power being deactivated, the Shrink probably would have ceased being active.
