Ok i just wrote an english exam so my good words are all gone.

Have a system where random areas are "corrupted" by industry and you have to go heal the land. You would demolish the factory or what have you and the grass would sporut up, trees would re-grow, rivers would be clean. Kind of how Okami works when u heal a cursed area. So when you are playing and on the main quest you would randomly encounter areas of Mudos that need healing.

Control scheme, yeah Stranger's wrath had good controls for jumping and such. As Adventure games and Platform games have developed into one genre of games it is important that an Adventure game have good climbing and platforming mechanics.

The screen, no clutter. I hate clutter on a game screen, Legend of Zelda twilight princess is a good example of to much crap on the screen at once. GTA 4 is a good example of no clutter. Weapon/ammo put in the top right corner, minimap in the bottom left corner, around the minimap is your health bar. Since i recently beat Okami on the wii i think it has some great qualities. Rather then having a minimap you press one button and the map of your area comes up, and its somewhat translucent. You can still sorta see and move while the map is up.

Abe doesn't need weapons or anything, but as abe is "The Spirit" declared by the Art of Oddworld, he should have a bunch of magic powers.

And just give munch the Jekyl and Hyde thing. Have a rage meter for when munch gets hit then all hell breaks loose, or make him a tech junky. He has the little zappy thing on his head, built off that. Give him something more.

When i played Abe's Oddysee, Exoduss and Munch's Oddysee the characters felt naked to me. I understand that they are in tune with nature and have no need for hip fashion, but atleast give them some gloves, boots, little big of armour. Like bark shoulder pads or something. If abe is gonna bring down the hammer he needs more then just exploding farts.

Open world is obvious, story elements would progress him into new areas.

Oddworld has alot of animal species. Ok well unlike alot of games lets see these things running around. Have nests of Paramites here and there, small herds of them close to the nest, and the farther out you get the less you see of them, but it won't be like your in a giant open area and its just you sitting out there hiding from the occasional slig. Even tho scrabs are territorial, have a herd of scrabs running around. Make them have a "priority" system where they actually have to go out and find food.

Alot of games don't seem to capture what the concept art is trying to get across. Sure i was scared in scrabania and paramonia, but once oddworld went to 3d there was no being scared. Abe isn't some Olympic sprinter, don't make these characters outrageously fast, this makes it so that people don't rush through things and get a real feel for the environment. Bring the stealth element back in 100 fold. Shadow play was freaking awesome in AO. In Stranger's wrath i never really felt that i "needed" to hide, and in MO i never felt that being stealth was necessary. Go back to the almost one shot death mechanic or something that makes you very careful about crossing the paths of a slig.

And to be perfectly honest if the next Abe game just has Abe in his lioncloth then thats kind of disappointing. Why would you keep doing the same thing you did 7 years ago. It can be the same characters, just re-invent them. This is next gen baby, its the next level up.

EDIT: Also the Elum could be like Epona in legend of Zelda games. Make it bigger in my opinion. As it is a grazing animal i'm sure it would be bigger then what looks to be the size of a raptor. And that is your transportation.

Now THAT'S a post Nick. There's a lot I agree on there, and a couple of things I don't. But that would make a brilliant game.

I was thinkin'. Anyone ever played Sonic Adventure 2? There's a Good/Bad storyline for certain characters, and I think that could possibly work in the upcoming game. Like for the good storyline you'd get Abe and Munch and the other Muds, then there's the bad side which is obviously the Glukkons and Sligs. Maybe play the role of Molluck or Lulu attempting to get back to the top again?

Someone said a while back about bosses. I reckon that's a fantastic idea.
There wouldn't be much choice, but it could work.

AND GIVE IT REPLAY VALUE. After you've finished the main storyline, maybe there'd be more to do, like sidequests, saving extra Muds.

RPG elements, ok shoot me, but the multply endings was a start.
I think there's a lot of potential with the possessing system, expecially with recent innovations. You can play how you want.
Feel like sneaking in and saving as many people as possible, solo as abe, this will be tedious, but you will get more praise by your people from it, and you are saving lives will you're at it, from both sides. You won't attract attention, and through stealth, wits and puzzles, you'll get around.
Hungry for action elements? Posses a slig and go out rambo, it would be nice if the angle was switched to FPS, or at least that the game would be shooter freindly, more like SW.
You will kill your own mudkons, no doubt in the choast, or it'll at least be extremly hard not to, but your slaughtering your enemy while you're at it, they won't get away.
Or maybe posses a Glockon executive, and sneak your way through the facilty, hiding from your own emplyees, using your persuasive abilities to get where you want, hell, you may end up aiding the inudstralists in order to help the mudkons, but then they might see you as a traitor.


I like the puzzle elements in the 3d MO, and they did work, but unless it's some as innutive as Portal, I'd like to see something fresh.
So back to what I said earlier, RPG elements, choosing your own path, character costumisation (clothes, etc.) (But this would NOT be an Abe game), maybe even convesation choices, or at least advancements to the speaking system already in place with the Abe games.

Also, playing things we've never seen before, look at COD 4, that game was full of it, jumping out of a sinking ship, sneaking past an army, I want moments like that.

For everbody who thinks that weapons for Abe, I must to tell you something.

In Munch's Oddysee I've REALLY hated when other Mudokons can bring weapon like the club or the spooce shrub and Abe CAN'T use it. Don't say then you can make the Mudokons follow you and attack the enemies, they are just occluded when shooting or smashing!
By slapping enemy the most of the time you'll die!!!! I think Abe can use only 3 weapons: Slingshot, Mudokon Club, Spooce shrub bow and stop! Maybe the old grenades from Oddysee and Exoddus, but I think it's better use Mudokon weapons!
Slingshot has unlimited ammo but it's poor, the Mudokon club would be good with normal slacker Slig but not for Big Bro's.
For the spooce shrub bow, Abe can pick up spooce shrub as ammo (but with some limitation!)

I don't want the Mudokon weapons anywhere in the game. I don't want the Mudokons to be too powerful. I also want Stangs to be in the game. And Munch has to posess 3 more types of robots. Greeters should be one of them.

The whole point of Abe's games is that he has no weapons, but is leading the uprising. He's not a superhero who can save the world by himself. He needs to unite is allies if there is to be a chance, and when alone he must keep his wits about him and not face his enemies head-on. With weapons, armour and customisation, Abe and Munch become Ratchet and Clank.

Hmm, I'd like to see a GTA/ Assasin's creed/ etc. kind of style, where Abe would be moving around the factory/ city, where citizens would be moving past going about there own buissness and from there you would would site the entrances to the facility, and decide to do whatever you want.
So Let's just say the game takes place in a city, say Nolyblab, but there are bits travling outside of the wilderness, etc.
You wouldn't have weapons, so you would have to sneak/ talk your way through situations, but you could also possess people that could.
Through your actions, your words, you word inspire more and more people to follow you, suddenly the whole city is changing because of you, untill a few scale assualt on the city is happening, mayeb you start going into the wilderness, and lead the invading forces in, something like the assualt on city 17 in Halfe-Life 2.

But you would either have to blend in with the crowds, or sneak around, through the backstreets trying to avoid them, if you even become seen by someone who would recognise you, suddenly you find yourself being chased, in which, running won't get you far, and you have to adapt to your environment, and thing to escape.
A ladder just out of reach, posses an intern from the appartment below to lower it, so you can jump up, slig patrols on your heels, and dive into the apparentments, dodging bullet fire.
Find you're self in a dead end, a battlion of the slig police on your very tail, attrack the attention of nearby brids, so they form a portal for you to escape in.
You would always be on the run, and perhaps you could even escape to the outskirts and wilderness outside of the city, where you would be safe.
Such an open world would be awesome, but it's never been done by OW before, but that's exactly what I want, something original.
We love OW for it's originality, let it not become like all of the other innuative companies out there, and use the same old things again and again that they created.

Well, but it's kinda boring always stealth or avoid enemies. For me weapon would be a good add, but you still need the help of your friends for many levels, alone you can't do nothing! If you don't like weapons: DON'T USE IT you're not obbligated. I want that you can complete levels in many ways you want: stealth, killing, possessing or more!

Interesting. I always did wonder what Abe fed on when he was traveling. Perhaps when a Scrab/Paramite is killed, Abe can cut meat from the bodies, which he can then cook then eat. Kind of like a survival thing.

There should be more species of wildlife (Flying Scrabs!). It seems that we've seen many sentiant species, but hardly any animals. Also, aquatic Sligs would be cool.

You would not call a flying scrab a flying scrab. You would call it 'sir'.

I always thought sligs belonged in the ocean, I mean witout the pants they could use that tail thing to swim around, and the mask could be just so they can breathe in air (although it has been theorized they wear it because their ugly) But Vykkers could of adapted Sligs to live on land. But I suppose either way it doesn't change anything xD

Perhaps the other animals of oddworld hide into the dark corners of the world avoiding the Glukkons and their factories etc

I'm sure as further parts of oddworld is explored more animals will be shown (hopefully)

You're close. They evolved in damp, murky swamps. The pants were provided by the Glukkons to give them mobility.

Just because Rupture Farms 1029 was destroyed, it doesn't mean there aren't more. And I guess they'd drink Alf's Tea.

I agree with you. The way Microsoft didn't want a PC version of MO is just stupid. Microsoft are the ones that made the Windows operating system, so they could have made MO for Windows. Maybe (if the game is for 360) Microsoft will realize they should make a Windows version -- there's about as much PC gamers as console gamers, so they will probably make twice as much money as they would by just making it a 360 exclusive.

Just because Rupture Farms 1029 was destroyed, it doesn't mean there aren't more. And I guess they'd drink Alf's Tea.
I think they drink water and eat something else: Alf's Tea was for sick Mudokons and Scrab Cakes and Paramite Pies were too expensive and infact they have been bought by Kanzumers. And worker Mudokons aren't rich. And I don't think native Mudokons would have eaten food made using the bodies of the creatures they defended!!!

I don't think the Mudokons ever defended the Scrabs and Paramites, revering them is different.

Anyway, didn't the Native Americans hunt and kill some of the animals they revered?

Apart from Oddworld nudity and sex scenes (reference to an earlier psot of mine), it would also be nice for a DS version of the 2D games to be released. An easy solution for how to get full GameSpeak - the DS' built in microphone which is barely used. Could also add QuickSave to AO.

In AE, Mudomo revered Paramites and Mudanchee revered Scrabs.
