This is unusual, but really... Kids haven't been innocent in double-figure ages for a long time, to think otherwise is naive. If people weren't so immature about sex, if parents and teachers were able to talk about it openly then this sort of thing wouldn't happen. Children think they know about sex, and they have to muddle things out for themselves because their elders won't share their wisdom even if they were asked for it. So really, how can anyone be surprised that on occasion, they'll come to a conclusion as far off the mark as this?

It's SPECIFICALLY these kind of cases that needs to be joked about. If you can't joke about stuff like this you have a way to serious life. No-one died, the kids had sex at 11, thats something you should be able to laugh at once you've passed the seriousness off it. Now if it was rape it would have been a whole other story, which BTW surprises me because the article didn't mention the word 'rape' once. One would expect the boy that was involved to get all the blame.

I disagree. I don't think that joking about 11-year-old kids having sex is even remotely humorous or mature. It just shows that our society is becomming increasingly worse as the years go on. Next thing you know, we'll have even younger children going at it with one another, and perhaps even producing a child as a result. I really don't think that is something to joke about.

Which reminds me about one of the vagaries of Victorian law - if this had happened here, all four children would technically have been guilty of statuary rape.
