Ah, so he's still alive! That may prove interesting.

Anyway...

I must confess that this seemed like a great idea until I actually played Space Invaders as part of the 'research' for this picture, and was reminded that every game of Space Invaders inevitably ends with the hero being killed.

In that little exploding purple mess you can imagine the words 'What the dickens?' in really, really tiny letters.
Also have something else to show off now Moosh is back, but it'll have to wait.

Might work this image into a banner for myself at some point. Now if only I had the ability to actually make that game...

-It was so ambitious at the time that most of the year-long development time for the game was spent inventing new hardware to run it.
-It was originally coloured by stretching green and orange cellophane over the screen.
-The developers wanted the aliens to move faster as time progressed but the hardware couldn't cope with this; it could only move the aliens faster if there were less on the screen...
-It was so popular that in Japan it led to a shortage of 100 yen coins; more had to be printed to meet demands.
-It was so popular that some arcades began opening with only 'Space Invaders' consoles.
