Decent egg nog takes more preparation. Boiling eggs and heavy cream with nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar before thinning it with whole milk and alcohol of choice.

Or you could just buy it.

Christmas shopping completed on the eve of Christmas Eve. The wrapping and cleaning shall commence on Christmas Eve and after that, I pig the fuck out eating far more than what I could and should.

And I'm part of the 99% that apparently has never tried egg-nog. This shall be remedied this year, the only question is should I store buy it or attempt to make it myself?

Raw egg doesn't really have a taste. It isn't until the proteins emulsify through cooking that it gets it's "eggy" flavor. Store-bought egg nog is made with hyper-pasteurized eggs, to give it a longer shelf life and prevent contraction of foodborne illnesses like salmonella. Thing about pasteurized eggs is that they don't give it the creamy, frothy consistency of the homemade variety.

If you're a healthy specimen and you're careful, you're not very likely to experience any side-effects of consuming raw eggs. So mix a batch and drink up!

Watched MCC. Tragically, I spent so long in my room wrapping presents that I actuallythought today was the 23rd, so I missed the start );

I'm surprised this doesn't have one of those image-and-looping-music sites yet, like Nyan Cat or Chicken on a Raft. Someone should make one.

we haven't had any snow whatsoever so far. had a little sleet a couple of weeks ago, but then it started pissing it down again so it just got washed away. but i'm not complaining, at least i can walk ten yards without falling on my arse. repeatedly. in front of crowds.
