They probably do read our fics, just when they're not working and when they're at home or something. And they probably read them as guests. I've seen loads of guests reading peoples fics.

Hey...on another subject, do you guys think Stranger will have a MultiPlayer shoot-out? Most FPS's have MP, will OWI add it? And if they did, would they do it LIVE? Hmmm.

I doubt it, Oddworlds always been about single player and they're probly saving any Multi-player action for Hand Of Odd.

Ive read something about a multi player idea for the hand of odd. It was al about turing the lands industrial when your playing gluks and visa versa when your playing muds.

I wasn't expecting any multiplayer, just wondering about it. I mean, I never thought OWI would go to the FPS route...and they did. Of course, they've made it as odd as ever and very unique. If OWI went FPS, then they could make multiplayer. Although, I doubt they will. I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Well, I think if they're doing a First Person Shooter, there is a good chance of Multiplayer... Most FPS's have Multiplayer, maybe OW can give it an Odd touch...

maybe, but since it's not 100% FPS I doubt there will be any multiplayer...

IF they were doing an FPS, THEN we can probably expect a Multiplayer. But from what we have heard, this is an exploration game with some FPS elements rather than the other way around.

Still, "Oddworld does Halo" does sound like a good idea.

Oh man, FPS would rock! Seriously, one look at those blunderbusses, bows, and pump action cannon launchers and you can tell the game wouldn't be at a loss for weapons. Factor in snoozer bots, minions like fuzzles, fellow mudokons and assembled armies and factions from the various outlands and the game would be filled with carnage and great tactical options. There certainly seems to be a lot of gunplay in this, which is a different direction but exciting direction.

ahum, according to the X-Factor video, only SOME parts are in FPS, it's more like the Splinter Cell way to play (move in 3rd person, and shoot as first person)...

Spectacular pics! I'm really suprised we are getting all this stuff so soon. I expected pretty much nothing until a few months before release. It seems there is always a little something new waiting for me whenever I visit the forums. I'm lovin' the character design I've seen so far.

The one that was in the game section at Oddworld.com above the title 'Stranger' before the one of Stranger himself was up. It wasn't a logo as such, rather a small, low-res assortment of characters, including Stranger, the Clakkerz, Natives and Scuba Toads, several species of 'hunters', the Wartslogs and one huge friggin' thing that reminds me of Tiny Tiger.

I know that the game isn't going to be all about shooting and that isn't the enphasis of the game but come on! This game will have a ton more gunplay and violence than any other Oddworld game, you're carrying a crossbow for crissakes! Every major villain seems to be packing a gun thats bigger than a 4th grader and a large segment of the Natives carry spears. The violence won't be the gore splattered kind where one shot from a gun would knock a Scuba Toad back half a football field and make him bloody stump but it certainly will be there.

I hope the violence is realistic, yet darkly amusing. Like being able to pin a creature to a tree/wall with a crossbow bolt etc. I wonder how he, as a two legged thing, is going to suddenly become a four legged thing...

With the theory that the Stranger has to remain in disguise to stop poachers from spotting and wanting his horns, I'm more intrigued as to how a four-legged thing became a two-legged thing.

I also wanna know what role Clakkerz have in Oddworld society. I mean... do they provide products of any kind, or just go around urbanising native land? Why are they hicks? I spot the - cough - "parody" of Western townsfolk slowly spreading over the Native Americans' land, but why do they need to be yokels? Also, with no digits, let alone opposable ones, how the heck do they dress?

Oddworld 4, a place of mystery. Oh no, wrong promo...

Well the concept art we've seen so far shows him as having a regular upper body and a horse's lower body like a centaur. I also think he becomes less able to hide it the more he transforms.

I think they're just comic relief. I hope that's not the case though, Oddworld has never made a creature that's just there for fun, each individual creature has it's own unique characteristics and history. If OWI made a creature such as the Clakkerz that are just there for comedy I would be amazed at how many levels they dropped.

I always thought the clakkerz were being forced to move by the glukkons or octigi so they could use the land.

Perhaps they are Kahnzumers. Bear with me, I know the general census is that Khanzumers are a species, but what if they're more of a social class? It makes sense, since with all the races on Oddworld, why would the Glukkon economy be dependant on only one of them?

But why would clakkerz, out of all the species, be Kahnzumers?

I assumed that Khanzumers were really high up there, money-wise...since they are the most important factor to the glukkon industries.

Khanzumerz are meant to be the richest of the rich and I doubt they would degrade themselves by talking with a western tongue and wearing overalls. Besides, from what I understand, Khanzumerz is also the name of the species, thus Clakkerz and Khanzumerz can't be the same race.

Khanzumerz are the consumers. Clakkerz strike me as being farmer type folk who have no need for processed scrab cakes.

Khanzumerz are considered the most important creatures on Oddworld by the industrial races, and they need a new fabric softener. That's all we know. Speculate around that.

Sligslinger, I know Clakkerz are the comic relief in the game, but I wonder what role they have in Mudos society. They could just be farmers, a kind of mid-way race between natives and industrials, half way urbanised and trying to figure out their role in the grander technocratic society of Oddworld, and posing a threat to native races by taking away their land, but still quite arrogant, naive and unwise in the ways of things.
