:
hey , this thread is old.
but killy gave my some samples from his mo xbox rips.
but he won't be around the next few weeks for college.
anyway i am planning on ripping using line-in and an mp3 but I don't know which program killy used to edit them.
i do have goldwave but i don't think it can reduce the soundeffects from the chasing and fighting except if the program read them as vocals so i can reduce em.

Hold on, I don't recall asking you to speak for me? This is sort of rude and you're being very impatient - I can't instantly reply to every single one of your MSN messages, I hope you realise that. You could've just sent me a PM and I would've gladly helped you out.
I don't mean to be an ass or anything, I'm just saying - you're talking about me like I'm not even here or as if I don't give a damn.
Goldwave works fine, but you should try SoundForge or Audition, they have more and better filters for multitracking and editing. Also, I
thoroughly explained the procedure to you, but you insist on asking me this. Sound effects are not vocals. In fact, if they were vocals and you'd filter them out, you'd degrade the sample beyond recognition. You need to record clean samples, which ultimately means playing through the same sequence over and over again until you have enough clean samples so that you can mix them together to form the track in its entirety.
