The main problem with that song is that the chords aren't standard, and my keyboard is at least 10hz sharper than than the recording. Also, it's really dense and I'm not used to piano parts in that style.
The man had no idea how to play piano. He had a unique sense of rhythm, however. He gave it to a guitarist to play, and it turned into this (the tape above is only the final half of the guitar piece).

In my opinion, Beefheart was even better than Schoenberg. Arnie had his serialism and academic approach, but Beefheart eschewed all organisation in favour of absolute cacophony played with great spirit. Very beautiful.
