Edit: If anyone still thinks this is a virus please use process monitor from Microsoft and see it deletes no files, doesn't do anything to the registry or add itself to auto start etc.

Ok I give up thanks for killing this project then, I have no intention of doing anything else if people are just going to say "its a virus"

Edit: Removed the file since people are just going to say its a virus. I'm doing no more on this since its pointless.

Also you did'nt warn anyone, you just said "it gave me a virus" which translates to "IT IS A VIRUS SO DONT OPEN IT". If you read the terms when you signed up people would already know its at their own risk.

What I meant is that is you when you say it isn;t a virus it deosn't mean anything because if it was a virus you wouldn't admit it.

I ran it without scanning it from trust, then scanned it after reading your post after mine to back up your statement. Sorry if this was taken another way.

To be honest, I'm not suprised that your virus scanners are picking this up as a virus... they're really pissy whenever it comes to strange, unverified software. Well, except for ClamWin, cause ClamWin rocks!

But your scanners will percieve these as infections/threats for they do the same with game cracks (gosh, now I feel so dirty.)

Norton AV is a pile of crap:

The only refs on false positives they have is Norton, rendering PC's unable to boot and other stuff like that. I imagine anything else I do on here is going to looked upon with suspicion from here on :/

Its just annoying to put a lot of my spare time and effort into something for someone to come along and just say

"It gave me a virus"

At least scrabtrapman said "Norton THINKS its XYZ".

Paul, please re-upload the file. We shouldn't all have to miss out because Gabbits is being retarded. If you look, only he and STM said it could be a virus seriously. I generally disregard all of STMs posts and I'm considering doing the same to Gabbit's after his actions in this thread.

I regret the opening of my post; it sounds bad reading it now. I hope you can forgive me, I was feeling quite tired at the time. The main intention of the post was to say that I had found no such "virus".

I need another copy of the file, though. It has been deleted from my mums computer and I haven't used my computer in several days due to illness. If you aren't prepared to reupload because of Gabbits, could you please PM/email me them?

EDIT: People posted while I was writing this but I'm too lazy to edit.

EDIT2: I've also since noticed the virus scan results that I missed earlier. Sincerest apologies.

I wouldn't either, but then people are just plain ignorant whenever it comes to the workings of AV software. If something says that it's a virus then they're gonna believe that it's a virus.

But, I respect your work and I also respect the fact that you picked up the task for a project that you weren't asked to do and if people don't have the common sense/courtesy to believe that you're not going to write malicious software then I say jump off and work on it for yourself.

STM, if your AV was blocking the file and you wanted help, that's fair enough. I would just suggest making it very clear what you're trying to say.

GO, get real. It's not a virus. It does nothing a virus does. Just beacuse the AV does it's job of detecting and notifying you of an incoming file, that does not mean the the said file is malicous.
