Really incredible stuff. Jon's singing wasn't half bad either
I legitimately think that this song is more meaningful coming from a fat nerd given a break by an emerging business model than a conventionally attractive Californian millionaire.
URRRRR WIMMIN DOIN GOESBUSSAS NO URRR WIMMIN NOT FUNNY.
So a film's not capable of being shit if it has women in it?
I've seen people ragging on the movie for being all-female, and tbh they're less irritating than the people defending it to the death for the same reason despite it looking like a pretty bland, by-the-numbers buddy movie.
To be fair. Why is it an all Female cast? Did anyone ask for that? I certainly don't remember hearing "Oh, Ghostbusters need to be remade with an all female cast".
Don't get me wrong. It could of worked. It could of been unexpected and perhaps a great twist to the original. But it's not. They're irritating and unfunny. It's almost cringe worthy.
The trailers made the film look bland with zero character. Sure it has some nice props and locations which do fit the Ghostbusters theme, But everything is horrible bright neon CGI and is missing the charm of the original. That's what people are moaning about.
Nobody wanted a Ghostbusters remake. With or without an all female cast. I'm just so sick of these shitty remakes to classic films which don't need to be made. The only positive thing they do is they just show how good the originals are in comparison. And maybe make people aware that the film they just watched has a much better, original version.

Not to say that I disagree, but I'm sure that some SJW feminists would jump you if they heard this "sexism"
Oh yeah totally. And they would of obviously ignored the part where I said...

The Female cast isn't even the worst thing about the movie. The fact it looks so fuckin bland as all hell is the worst thing. But no. If I dislike this movie in any way. I'm obviously a sexist.

I watched the trailer and said "eh", then had no desire to communicate about it until now. I really don't know why there's any discussion, other then the people angry about the female casting.
I really don't like this trailer. Seriously, are all modern trailers just made by one guy? So many trailers now are going for this kind of epic feeling? It's really obvious in the sound design. The Jungle Book trailer was probably the worst I've seen in the last few months.
Anyway someone made a fan cut of the trailer which looks much more fun.
It still comes across as quirky and gives some hints at the tone, without trying to feel so huge and stuff. Would people agree if I said it was more humble?
Anyway here's RedLetterMedia's reaction to the trailer. I liked this a lot, given that Youtube is flooded with people's opinions at the moment.
:
I can imagine there were many good male actors in the auditions, and they chose the only 4 female actors for "diversity" reasons, regardless of skill
I'm sure they would have only ever made a casting call for women. That's not something you decide off the cuff.
The lameness and repetiveness of modern trailers is a topic for another discussion. They're really bad. I think Michael Bay movies started this stupid trend of making them like that
To be fair. Why is it an all Female cast? Did anyone ask for that? I certainly don't remember hearing "Oh, Ghostbusters need to be remade with an all female cast".

Nobody wanted a Ghostbusters remake.
(starting off with that last sentence and working backwards) The problem is that the studio wanted a Ghostbusters remake. And if you start from the premise that it was going to happen anyway, at least this is slightly more interesting than a straight copy/reboot.
The trailer didn't horrify me. It looked like a generic buddy comedy, sure. But all trailers look like that to me these days, regardless of the film. At the moment I'm just trusting in the fact that it's a really strong cast and a reasonable director, and they'll hopefully end up doing something interesting.
