Going back to the girl-gamer thing, there seems to be a trend on gay dating sites of guys describing themselves as being a 'nerd'/'geek' when they really mean 'dirty hipster'. Or possible 'Super gay and likes Glee'.

I know a hipster girl(shes pure, stereotypical hipster... As in.. She calls everything swag, pretends shes a gangster, likes odd shit just to be cool), that once told me: Im so jealous of the fact that you know how to play games. I don't see what the problem is with people trying to fit into social niches so they feel like they belong. Yeah it's annoying but if it gives them a sense of inclusion and makes them happy then so what? They're not harming anyone. I classify myself as a sort of nerd, but I don't D&D, I don't war huge glasses and I'm not socially inept. I also like to think of myself as a gamer even though I don't have 500 games and an HD TV to plug into my multitude of consoles. I just do what makes me happy with the people I feel I fit in the most with.
