I'm not big on nationalism either. I don't really care until someone starts judging me simply on the basis of where I was born. Keep in mind he wasn't overtly in favor of nationalism either. A big part of the class was how nationalism led to most of the world conflicts within the past 400 years or so.

I'm still going to judge someone from Somalia or Liberia as a little fucking scary though.

And I'm more than welcome to approach an East Indian Man and assess him as a little fucking smelly, because that's how I roll.

I'm cautious about what I'm patriotic towards. I believe that my country has the potential for real progressive change, but it's being influenced so heavily by the religious and the right wing that nobody knows shit about... shit... anymore. I'm descriptive!

Yes, but surely you wouldn't judge their character, capacity, and potential to do good simply on their country of origin or odor? Right?
