Hobo has the final say in who gets invited. And it wasn't what Dipstikk told. It was the fact that he told--he broke our trust. But to be specific to Wired, I and otheres were mad about that because we spent so much time coming up with fun ideas for it. All for a waste.

Look, you people have all shown me the good people you can be on something as simple as a forum, don't let this WIRED account carry you away. Let this go, I'm not offended, Kai isn't offended. You all may be by the backstabbing and other things, but think about what you're getting pissed off about. A joke, a forum joke.

I don't know half the stuff about the Mausoleum thing so I won't comment on that. But I wouldn't recomend doing something this silly with so many people again, otherwise nosey people like kai and myself will be there to bring the whole facade down!

Heh, I actually did confess to Luke and maybe Rich or someone else that I felt a bit guilty near the beginning of Wired. But the joke became way too fun, especially since we nearly developed personality disorders ourselves.

If anyone here ever has their art wrongly attacked, they need only drop me a PM. That kind of thing (as in a blatant attack on someone's art based only on biased feelings toward the artist, and NOT legitimate constructive criticism) really pisses me off and is grounds for a one-week banning as a warning. Seriously.

But in all actuality, I don't think that anyone here would have attacked your art.

Anyways, now that i read the whole thread... I must say.. wow...

Dunno what to say, i don't wanna sound dramatic or anything, but i do feel a bit backstabbed or whatever... Feel like, there's this whole conspiracy between the 'mod team' or whatever... The Wired joke just... I feel sick cos of it, because you all make a big deal when someone makes a multi or whatever, but then you go make one yourself, call it a forum joke, and expects everyone to understand.
I don't understand, and I don't feel like i can trust peopæle anymore. How do i know the next member is a mod-created joke?

I feel like leaving now, butI probably wont because the forums are too dear to me, but this is just... I makes me feel angry, I don't know who i can trust anymore.

I don't know what exactly sparked this outburst, too be honest, I skimed a lot of this thread. However, my eyes have certainly been opened today. The behaviour of some members rather astounds me.

I don't know if you posted as Wired, Dipstikk, and it doesn't really bother me. However, I think you've over-reacted, and I can only assume it was because your banning went through.

Sorry, but I'm pretty angry right now as you might have noticed. I can't just take Hobo's bashing as a joke, cos he does it constantly.
I probably can't explain it so you understand it, but i feel offended by it. I'm sure if i change my attitude to match Hobo's, you'd all be like "WTFBBQ U GAT A WARNING!"....

The only reason you think it's funny is because your his friend, but some people aren't... And they don't take it as a fun joke. You can't just go to a stranger and joke like that, because he wont take it as a joke. If he did that to you Alcar, you would understand because you know him, and you know he's just joking... when it's you.

But when i first joined, i was quite afraid of posting because of ppl like him, I didn't wanna be anyone's enemy, but seeing that someone like him might pop up and throw an insult scared me. Now i don't care really... I just dislike when people do stuff like this...

I hardly speak to Hobo anymore, let alone many members. I'm not online very much. But that's beside the point. With everything I do, I take an objective view from a distant standpoint. I can't see Hobo's comments really affecting anyone in a bad manner. If he does attack members, he does so with established members who should be able to see throught it. I get angry when established members attack newer members who have no idea what is going on. THAT is sad.

I really don't think Hobo's constant taunting of Havoc (Calling him a "Tiger fucker," for example) is what I'd call idle teasing.

Hobo's an asshole, and he's just pulling this shit because he's online. If anyone called one of my friends something to the effect of what Hobo's calling Havoc in real life, I'd smash his face.

He's putting on a show, trust me. We've got all sorts of Hobo-esques on DeviantART.

Okay, what the hell? Since when did this forum turn into a place where the moderation team can just play around and abuse their powers? Because thats what basicaly happened here. It was said before, the rules state clearly no multies are allowed, Alcar and the rest are extremely over sensitive about that and ban on sight. But when they feel like pulling a joke, they just create one themself to have some fun. What gives you the right to do so and not other members? The mod team us supposed to set an example for other members and not think they are better then others just because they have powers and a fancy title (AKA Hobo, and how he ever got powers is totaly beyond me).
We have had countless discussions about how postcount and custom titles doesn't make anyone better then a new member. But I guess admin or mod status does? Thats BS, and I say that while I'm on the Mod team myself. The people involved in this dishonour their title.

Let me tell you a thing or two about running a professional forum. The Oddworld Forums are the top unofficial Oddworld forums in the community. If not the only realy active one. That alone is reason enough to keep this place ran in a professional manner. Playing jokes on members is fun for your every day house, kitchen & garden forum. But not here.
Our forum is the first website mentioned on the Oddworld.com fansite list. But this place seems to suddenly have developed a huge gap between member and moderator. And thats not the way to go.

If you can not see that abusing your powers to play a joke (and a very very lame one at that, because I didn't find it at all funny), is wrong. If you, as a mod or admin, choose to have a prick like Hobo around, dispite him breaking every possible rule, and where any other guy with the same behaviour would have been banned long ago. If that is how you think a forum should be ran, you are not worthy of your title.

Also, Hobo is not funny. I can take whatever he throws at me, don't you worry about that. But that doesn't make it funny. Hobo is an arogant piece of sh*t that should have been kicked from this place long ago, instead of everyone praising him as a god for some retarded reason. Other people who joined this forum with the same behavior lasted a week, or a month at the very most, before the entire staff decided it was enough and banned the guy. Hobo still has his name all over the callender, thinking he is some important person who should be remembered.

The persons involved in this should check themselfs to see if they actualy find this funny. And should concider if this is the level you want OWF to continue with. Because if you keep running this place the way you do now, it will be dead before 2007.

Havoc, I honestly don't think Hobo means most of the things he says. I may not post on the forums jokes like him, but I understand where his jokes are coming from. They ARE light-hearted jokes, meant to impact on a person for a split second. The most obvious of jokes is one where you take the most obvious attribute of a person, and make it funny. Obviously, that is you with Tigers. I'd rather a joke based on some facts, rather than jokes made simply out of spite. That being said, I'm not here to defend Charlie. I honestly don't think anyone should take him seriously when he makes such comments, but then their are always those who interpret things differently.

As for my involvement in the whole Wired thing. I did not take part in any of it. I merely turned a blind eye. Sometimes to keep the masses happy, or keep a forum active, you need to comprimise. This isn't the first time somewhat 'scandolous' acts have been used to boost activity or interest in the forums.

I know I often bash President Bush, or even my own Prime Minister John Howard for his blatant stupidity or two-sidedness, but through my years of experience, to keep a healthy and happy community (or government), you often need to resort to things less optimistic. Sad but true. This isn't a utopia, and the things we have to deal with behind the scenes are phenomenal.

So don't you dare judge me based on your limited knowledge. I had nothing to do with this, other than turning a blind eye. The inner workings of such were not decided upon by me, etc, etc. I'd prefer if the lot of you would deal with me in private, perhaps MSN, rather than attack me, because you're joining the Alcar bandwagon. This ain't a thread about me.

Yes. Please don't get pissed at Alcar for this, people. He had the least to with it out of all of us.

As the highest-ranking staff member that allowed and participated in the whole Wired debacle, I accept full responsibility, so you can get angry at me if that's what you want. Just don't vent at Alcar.

And honestly, I don't feel the least bit guilty about Wired, as I am constantly going out of my way by checking new members for the possibility of multiple accounts. I don't "make a big deal about it," I do it because it's my responsibility. And I don't care if this is hypocritical, because Wired was nothing more than a one-time joke to liven up this place a bit; he was never a serious multi account. Everything he said was supposed to be ironic, but I guess some people just missed that.

Those who participated had every intention of revealing Wired's identity once the majority of the forum was convinced that he was Dino. Unfortunately, we were all too lazy to make Dino-length posts, so our plan kinda fell apart. It was going to be a "Ha-ha! Gotcha! We can all laugh about it and move on now!" moment, but I guess that wasn't meant to be.

I do want thank a few of you, like Dippy, who are seriously ready to move past the whole thing, and even fewer of you, like OANST, who actually get it.
