Ouch, now I feel kind of bad to have reported it, on the other hand, how could I have known, I just checked out oddworld.com, saw the new picture and the link to the pre-order page and did what I always do: rush here and let OWF know.

Im willing to pre order to the game to get the extras for free but there is no fucking way I am going to pay for them after paying for the game just because I live outside the USA. Im surprised that region ever matters here, i would have thought that given Im buying it for the PS4 that the offer would be available worldwide.

So you'd prefer that it's not included in the pre-order deal and that everyone needs to pay it when it becomes available post-launch?

As Jaw_Alex said, despite JAW's intentions to do so the video game business can be fickle. So they'll only guarantee what they can guarantee and say they hope they are able to deliver the same for others.

Obviously if it was as simple as you think it should be we'd have that guarantee. But it seems that region does matter.

I wasn't saying that you announced it too early but that Oddworld might have changed the website too early or didn't intend for the Alf/Costume pre-order to be viewed this early since they cannot give details on it for a few more days.

Exclusive OWF deal: Anyone that can prove they own an existing Oddworld game gets a code for the Alf levels for free. Regardless of region. Because racism is bad.

I feel that the members OWF, more than anyone else, should actually buy the game (and add-ons) in order to support the work OWI and JAW are doing.

How is asking them to give out their work for free going to help them? Especially to die-hard fans that are going to buy the game anyway.

I hope they end up doing something like Machinarium did, release the game digitally first and after a while release a physical limited edition with bonuses in it such as lithographs, an OST cd, etc...

I'm still buying the game as soon as possible, by the way. I'd just like to get the best deal when I do.

My comment was tongue-in-cheek. If it comes to it, I will definitely spend the extra money to play the Alf levels. I just hope they can offer a similar pre-order deal for us Europeans.

They will be available outside of the US, I've not said otherwise.

I do feel for JAW. It seems this is really quite out of their hands. I believe they do have the best intentions though for us, why wouldn't they want to provide us with stuff they've slaved over for years? But at the same time, I hope we do not get disappointed.

Okay now you're making be genuinely curious as to why this is not easy. Is the entire point of being independent not that you have full control over these kinds of things? Or is it Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo who have certain restrictions on pre-orders and DLC on their platforms that is making it hard?

The "not easy" bit was more about trying to communicate with fans like you guys when we don't currently have all the information out there we want to have and the limited amount of time and resources we have available.

We want to get everything straight first and then we'll hopefully be able to move forward.
