@Max: most people in Australia use "fucking" every second word, which I guess they probably do elsewhere too. And while some people here may be offended by that, I don't think anyone would be by words like 'bastard' and 'bloody'. I never think of those as swearwords.

I prefer not to use swear words in general, since using swear words could possibly degrade you if you over-use them. It's down to personal preference. Maybe if the user was under 15 years of age, or was a guest, the swear words could be asterisked out. As for which words, just choose "the bad seven" (according to George Carlin).
