Also also, digressing to the whole how healthcare works in the states deal, I was talking to my mom about this whole discussion earlier today and found out that that point when I told you healthcare was at it's worse in terms of accessibility, it was because at the time our healthcare wasn't competitive at all since insurance companies weren't required to cover everyone and clinics could legally refuse you treatment.
When Obama passed the Affordable Healthcare Act, it was a push to make our healthcare more affordable by forcing it to become competitive. I knew AHA made it so everyone was required to have insurance, but I didn't realize that people were allowed to be denied insurance at all, and I definitely didn't realize healthcare didn't used to be a competitive market here. With the act, he also required insurance companies to insure everyone, and told clinics that they can't deny treatment to anyone.
Thing that sucks about it is by the time we would have seen what this would have accomplished, someone else who makes it into office would have put through something else to replace it
