heres my conclusion:
the universe is endless, i dont just think aliens are real, i believe its teeming with life out there, but not in our solar system.

i think my answer is the most logical one.

I thoroughly agree. There can't be aliens in our solar system because none of the planets, except Earth, have the conditions to be able to support any kind of lifeforms.

But there must be somewhere else in the universe where life is possible. However it is probably many billions of lightyears away...

no it's very unlikely that the universe is endless.

well Mars does have pretty good conditions too. and Europa may have water under the ice, but like I mentioned before, I don't think any life will be found there, but Europa may have enough conditions to house life.

of course the universe is endless, if it wasnt what would you expect would be on the outside hmm? its impossible that anything can exist outside the boundaries of the universe because there is no boundaries.

Then what the fuck is red shift? We know the universe isn't endless because there is an end to it unless it is globular or loops upon itself, either way just because we are centred in a pathetically central proximity when compared to it's fringes, it does not mean that the Universe is ongoing eternal.

Well, you can have nothing...space being nothing, there wouldn't be any atoms or life, so my guess would be the switch to the end of the universe would be almost un-noticeable besides the direction of the end of the universe would have no stars...unless your believe in multi-verse but besides, the Universe is speeding away too fast for scientists to know the truth let alone me.

Black is nothing...it's a lack of anything making it a term for nothing.

No it's not, black is only there when nothing else is, it's nothing, that's like saying nothing is something because it's a word for nothing making it something!

There's a fundamental difference between "black" and "nothing".

Black is a shade.

Gah, black isn't a shade because it's not a colour. It's just a lack of light, when you see black there is no reflection or light being emitted.

Shows how much you know:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tints_and_shades
:
a shade is the mixture of a color with black, which reduces lightness.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black
:
Although black is sometimes described as an "achromatic", or hueless, color, in practice it can be considered a color, as in expressions like "black cat" or "black paint".

:
It's just a lack of light, when you see black there is no reflection or light being emitted.
I think you missed the point of my post.

"Black" is the colour/shade we see in the absence of reflected light.

"Nothing" is the absence of anything.

okay, think about it. if the universe would be endless, there would be an endless amount of galaxies and stars. if so, the space would be white, cause every direction you would look into space should be filled with a star or galaxy or anything, but it isn't. space is black filled with a huge, but not endless amount of glowing material. it's called the Olbers' Paradox. there are other reasons too, why the sky isn't white, but the current idea of physicists about space is, it's finite as there is a finite amount of space, filled with a finite number of stars, each with a finite life-span.

The current idea from physicists is that they have no idea whether the universe is finite or infinite, but they acknowledge that the observable universe is finite and about 28 billion parsecs across.

Scrabface: That would only be true if the universe was of infinite age too. The observable universe is smaller than the actual universe because we can only see stars whose light has had time to travel to us - anything further away than 14 parsecs and the universe hasn't existed long enough for the light to reach us.
