The Hobbit was irritatingly boring. I recommend people to go and see What we do in the Shadows if they can find a screening.

Also, I recently saw Snowpiercer which was a very strange film. Almost like a live action anime.

So, the last Hobbit movie was definitely the least terrible of the three. Nothing blatantly moronic happened from what I can tell, it was about 40 minutes shorter than the other two, and I fell asleep during it for about half an hour. All those things combined made it, by far, the best Lord of the Rings movie going experience ever.

Considering where the second movie ends that wouldn’t be surprising at all.

Didn't for me. Thought the opening was pretty bad. I think almost everything no related to Bilbo and those dwarves should have been scrapped from the film. There's a problem when Luke Evans, the Master of Laketown, his lackey, Thranduil etc are given a lot more focus than half the dwarves. One may say you need a variety in your supporting cast but I felt this should have been an epic scope of a series told from that limited POV.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I, by no means, thought this was a good movie. I just thought it was less painful than the first two. And I did laugh at the part where Thorin was fighting orc dude, and threw his ball back at him.

That was actually a pretty well directed moment. I also enjoyed the Elves jumping over that dwarf shields. And when they let Martin Freeman act he was dead on. I would have liked a lot more of Thorin's descent into madness, personally.

Another thing that annoyed me about the second movie was the complete lack of any character development on Bilbo’s part. In the book he spends the entire journey slowly growing into the character he is by the Battle of Five Armies, but in the second movie he’s just set in stone as a ready-to-rumble adventurer.

I despised almost every minute of the second movie, but the cake was definitely taken by that Benny Hill-esque chase scene with Smaug at the end. I was mortified.

The dwarves never even so much as saw Smaug in the book, I can’t believe they had to mess with that part of the plot.

That fucking part about the Buddhist monk is the most profound moment in cinema I ever witnessed. And it was narrated by Christopher Walken.

Just saw Big Eyes. The subject matter could have made for a great film, but Tim Burton over-exaggerated certain aspects to a nauseating degree, specifically Walter Keane's obvious moral flaws, which seemed like they would be huge red flags to any rational person, at least in the way he presented them.

I rewatched the first two Star Wars movies. I mean, the first two canonically.

The Prequels.

They're better than I remembered. Still not very good, though.

I'd say they're at least watchable at some parts. Even EP1 had that epic final fight.

Fiiinnnnnalllllyyyyyyyyyyy watched the Lego Movie.

I enjoyed it more than I was expecting to, even with the high expectations I had going in. Fantastic movie.

I didn't cry at the end, sorry Nate. It was a really strong finish though, and a really great direction for them to have taken.

Watched the sci-fi film Edge of Tomorrow. Was pretty enjoyable and rose above what could have been a very generic action film starring Tom Cruise.

I spent the afternoon before New Year doing some ironing and watching Frozen.

I then spent the evening before New Year watching Frozen again with different people.

I love that movie.

I haven't seen Frozen and the only part of Let It Go that I've heard sung is the title, although those three syllables are more than able to get stuck in my head for days.

Unlike MeechMunchie, I'm kinda want to watch the movie just to see what the fuss was about. I just don't particularly care enough to go to any effort or pay for it.

I watched Dead Snow, a Norwegian film about nazi zombies. It was sort of funny but not nearly as good as I was told it would be. It was still quite enjoyable though and apparently there was a sequel released last year so I guess I'll check that out when I'm bored.

At this point it’s not unlikely that you won’t enjoy it much because of all the hype around it, especially since Christmas seems to have become Frozen Promotion Month. It’s one of Disney’s better movies but don’t go in expecting a Citizen Kane or anything.

I enjoyed that film a lot, definitely felt a lot like a videogame. Frozen was pretty good in my opinion, particularly the twist at the end. Olaf is a very adorable kind of character, the one that really makes you smile. I enjoyed Hobbit 3 but then I am a bit of a LOTR fanatic at the moment.

Actually, it's a piece of shit with next to no plot, and the plot that it does have only makes sense if you are one of three things:

A. Four years old.

B. A retarded person.

C. Willing to ignore these things because ooohhh pretty songs.
