Can i just say, love the game.

My only problem is that i didnt know how much the death jingle meant to me until it had gone
Also when you run sligs off ledges they lose all horizontal momentum and fall straight down instead of in an arc

Welp i found a glitch in the pc version, it seems that when you are hanging under a slig and pull up and drop in front of him while he shoots you will not get hurt (Now the game needs to be at 60fps for it to work every time)

i recorded a little video that kinda shows how it works, the drop in fps due to Fraps makes it more likely for you to get hit.

I miss sharpshooter sligs already. They knew how to activate flying mines correctly as well.

Wow it runs really smooth (apart from the FMVs) - Seems I can run it on full graphics settings with my 4 year old rig (3.2 GHz 6 core AMD CPU, Radeon 9870 1GB VRAM, 8GB RAM) as well, and it only taxes it about as much as Team Fortress 2 does, apparently (not much at all).

I spent this afternoon replaying the original AO and N'n'T handles differently of course - Not that it's a bad thing, just gotta get used to it. But it's really nice how you can rebind all the keys to the original ones.

But yeah, I'm pleased as punch, thanks so much, JAW!

I spent the past year upgrading my PC. Partly to play it, but mainly I want to brag about how awesome my PC is now. Feels goodman. Especially after having a 6 year old craptop for so long.
I'm debating whether or not to play it tomorrow as that's when my awesome new monitor should arrive, at the moment I'm using a massive LCD TV which is a pixelated mess when I sit this close to it.

Does anybody know if NNT supports 21:9 resolutions?

I had a friggin amazing laptop for about 11 months and then I spilt pineapple juice all over it and wrote it off. This one has 8gb ram though so if it still can't play games I'll probably go and bomb Dell.

The amount of RAM doesn't really have anything to do with how well it can run games, though. Poor Dell

The cutscenes run really poorly compared to the game running at 60 fps at 1920x1080 maxed out, just got past the secret of sweat, tears and pain in Paramonian Temple and I'm loving it so far.
Monsaic Lines felt so incredibly alive compared to the original and it really felt like I was trodding through a native area untouched by the industrials *even though that was the gist of it in the original too, this time it really hit me home

Yeah I have the same thing, I actually wonder if the cutscenes are prerendered or locked at 30fps? Gameplay is easily a constant 60+ but every cutscene has been roughly 30 for me.

I heard somewhere that they were prerendered but made within the engine - Perhaps the video codec they used doesn't run too well on low or mid range machines like mine.

It certainly seems to be a common issue judging by the Steam community page.

By the way, how do shadows look to you all? I have them turned up to max, but they still look quite aliased and stuttery. It's mostly noticeable in Monsaic Lines and Paramonia, as they're quite brightly lit areas.

My craptop seems to be a bit too shitty to run the game at 60fps so I'll probably have to wait for the Xbox One version to play. Oh well! Hopefully it's out by the end of March.

So I've uploaded the first part of my let's play! I had some trouble with the controls (i couldn't figure how to open the trapdoors to the secret areas at the beginning but anyway).
Once it has finished being processed by you tube, it will be published here http://youtu.be/Gt3PRqi_JRk

I added my positive review to the huge mass of positive reviews.

@Manco - I've not noticed anything unusual with the shadows so far, they look as they should do to me but I have only got as far as Stockyard Escape.

E: Also, this thread has some interesting info on the cutscene framerate issue.

The game itself looks great to me, very nice and crisp. The cutscenes seems crappy in comparison though. Framerate seems locked at 24ish and the intro cutscene especially is insanely bright (to the point where I couldn't make out the 'Scrab Cakes' poster).

Also the game crashed after about half an hour...

There's one slight disappointment for me, and that is the limitation of key customization. It's still somewhat restricted and currently not possible to make the keyboard layout identical to the original as far as I can tell. And aiming thrown objects still has to be done with either the mouse or separate keys, you can't bind the movement keys to aiming up/down for some reason.

Other than that, great port which I am enjoying immensely once again.

Okay so I got to the monsiac lines before deciding to take a break. So far I am a little bit disappointed. Everything feels too fast, and I don't just mean the gameplay directly. The cutscene voices sometimes overlap each other just a little bit, as well as just feeling too quick like it's being played 1.2x speed or something, and the gamespeak voices sound like everyone is in a serious hurry. I guess the faster gameplay isn't really a bad thing, I was just hoping for, you know, Abe's Oddysee speed. But all this I can get over since (most) of the voices are good and the soundtrack is spot on perfect, I'll get to the soundtrack in a moment.
The main issue I've had so far is the bugs. I honestly wasn't expecting so much, but a lot of this feels like "that just shouldn't have happened." For instance, I'll solve one of the secret puzzles (love the new trap door system btw) and feel it was a bit easy, then I'll try to remember how it was in AO and I'll quickly realize that the reason I did it so easy was I accidentally cheated. Going back to the areas and doing them again to see what was up I noticed I could get in specific positions where I could chant and take a slig over that I should not have been able to. Now, it's not like I am some speed runner who was specifically looking for tricks to take advantage of (*cough cough* shade *cough cough*) I just accidentally found these spots. Another example, one that actually made one of the puzzles overly difficult, was the scrabs stop chasing you too easily. On the puzzle where you have to run back and forth across multiple gaps while being chased by a scrab I kept loosing the aggro and would have to inch closer to it to get it to chase me again so I could start my return trip.
Now for one last quick note on the music. Whoever did this needs a medal from what I've heard so far. It's almost just like an HQ version of the original, except there a few minor additions which really fit the new visual aesthetics as well and it's just really amazing. I might actually try to go into the files and get the music to put into mp3 and put on my player because damn, it's great.

That's only my thoughts so far, I haven't played the whole game so I'm not going to be like "3/10 wouldn't play again" but as I went on it did start to improve.

Are you playing on Hard? Scrabs usually dont lose you if you play on hard, even if you hop jump (which is 1 frame faster than normally running). I had that happen to me on my normal playthrough but never since.

Btw, anyone playing on hard, beware of bats. bats will wreck your shit.

how the heck do you use the classic controls? I can't work it out, I was just staring blankly at the options and couldn't see them anywhere. I feel dumb.
