I know exactly what you mean. But I think because I grew up in the town, I'm extremely biased. And while the disconnection seemed hollow to you, to me, it was something I could easily relate to. It's an odd part of California that I live in, and barring some of the more outrageous snippets, the film was fairly accurate in representing life in the Central Valley.

But I've had a hard on for larry clark/harmony korine films for years. Seeing Gummo on the big screen of a revival theatre when I was a youngster completely blew my mind and started my love of the genre. If it can even be labeled as a genre. I'm rambling.

I watched Sin City again recently, and I can't stop thinking that Frank Miller made a mistake killing Marv off, he was a brilliant character.

It's probably my favorite movie now, though, cant wait for the sequel.

Planet Terror was brilliant, as well.

Clive Owen ruined sin city.

He's a monotoned emotionless hack. At first I thought it was character driven, but no, he's equally bad in every other movie.

Planet Terror was like a Troma movie with higher production values and less comedy. Rubbish.

Indeed. I spat at him while I was living in LA, but I had a cold, and it was all phlegm, so it fell short.

I saw The Golden Compass today, I actually enjoyed it, despite the fact that I'm going to have to watch the sequels when they come out.

I watched Knocked Up a moment ago, I laughed a lot.

I saw No Country For Old Men a couple days ago. If any of you want to actually see a movie by adults for adults (as opposed to generic fantasy like The Golden Compass) then make sure you see this. Best Coen brothers movie I've seen in a while.

Yeah, this was quite the opus. My favorites are Barton Fink and Miller's Crossing, but No Country for Old Men certainly gave them a run for their money.

Being The literary fag that I am I can't help but criticize Angela's Ashes for missing some of the Key parts of the book, and the bit with the lunar eclipse was fucking stupid, I am sorry but for god's sake.

Being of Irish heritage, I can't help but criticize the blacks for being so lazy.

Wait, what?

I loved the book, but the movie was a turd. Not even a polished turd. Just a big ole' clinker.

I love Barton Fink but I can't say I've ever been a big fan of Miller's Crossing. I always thought that and Raising Arizona were the two Coen brothers movies I could do without.

Watched the requested-for Christmas pressie The Bourne Ultimatum, a film made by children for adults. That's what it says in the blurb anyway. It was very good, it deserves the high-praise it's been getting, even if it's not exactly my sort of film. Too shallow, like.

I recently saw I Am Legend and it was pretty good. It was sad at parts, but overall satisfying.

I also saw Hot Rod recently, and I laughed so hard. I thought the Punch dancing scene was uber hilarious.

Saw Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix.
Rubbish, I hate movies like that. Curse my parents for dragging me there! It was kinda good in some parts though, like 'boys and girls aren't allowed to be 1 meter of each other' or whatever. Just girls and boys huh? Oh don't give me those looks... bwhaha. And I saw 'Pathfinder' really gory in some -well most- places, but a good movie all the same.
