While I was talking to morgo tonight, we both agree that it's good the game appears to be getting back to it's dark roots.

Although the characters aren't very creative, I was impressed with a couple things so far. Unfortunately, I'm too apathetic towards the whole thing to go into great detail.

Flint's mouth reminds me of an open wound. Took me ages to find the right wording for it, but there you go.

Well we have wait n' see what casts we going to have.

On the Mudanchee level it had this sign that said something like "Scrab hunting ,comming soon" in AE. Since Stranger is based on hunting, we might see scrabs.

Yes, seeing how this game is oriented with hunting. The scrab-o-rama may be like something extra you can do to increase your quarma or get cash or whatever it is you get after a hunt.

Hmmm, looks like another thing to discuss...

you have to give cash to go to scrab-o-rama
for me a simple affiche in stranger would be good enough!

Well, it has been noted that the ground of the jungle is highly remeniscent of Necrum. Maybe it is someplace nearby, in which case the Scrab-O-Rama idea sounds reasonable. Otherwise, I think Stranger takes place in the north of Mudos, as that's where mountains have been described as being before (though not to say they couldn't be elsewhere). However, there's also the river, which could be the same one Abe and Munch ended MO over.

That's another thing I'm wondering. If you get cash in the game (which I bet you do because in the opening sequence the Clakker was rewarding Stranger, though I don't know if he was actually paying him) can you buy stuff like weapon upgrades, ammo, or pay to do other activities such as the Scrab-O-Rama?

And Max, I brought this up before (I think) and I made a picture of where I thought Stranger would travel, I'll dig it out of my archives in a bit.

Ya might just be able to catch your ammo but there are loads of stuff you could get in game. It makes sence and it is also class.

The Clakker was telling Stranger where he could get his Moolah, so maybe that's where Stranger has to go in the first level. Just an idea. I'd love to see your picture. Geography is very important to me. :nerd:

DBD, You shouldn't have to catch all your ammo. Not everything is "live" ammo, there is an in-game sequence shown on the X-factor special of Stranger in FPS shooting sleeping darts.

And Max, I'm digging it up as we speak

I think there called Stunkz.

Anyway, you should be able to have two choices-each with their own downsides.

1. Buy ammo---downside: need money
2. Catch ammo---downside: is probly difficult (chasing/rigging a trap)

I'm positive that we do get to catch our own live ammo, Dodger. We might also be able to take ammo, or ever weapons, from the outlaws, though that's utter speculation. I don't think I'd like to see Stranger focus so much on arms.

I agree with Max, he should stick to his trusty crossbow, and instead of getting new guns he gets upgrades to his crossbow.

Wouldnt you just like to set a trap but to catch your ammo it be class. and thanks for correcting me. making ammo would be good aswell but im not sure about this nicking weapons coz ya would end up using something massive and rediculasly powerful like a rocket launcher and that would take the fun out of the hunt. If you think my spelling is to bad please feel free to correct me coz i cant spell

Don't worry about spelling mistakes, only people who think they're smart-asses correct people alot. I might correct you once or twice but only if what you type is totally illegable.

Anyway, making ammo would be cool, but like I said before; how would they incorporate that into gameplay?

Someone suggested Stranger could carve wooden ammo. That is just a crazy idea - I love it. Too many games have promised total interactivity with the environment, but the concept is very appealing, so I don't blame them.

Yes, I could see some gameplay and you have to type this big button combination in order to grab a branch, take out a knife, and carve it into a dart :P

I know allot of people object to this but i think some games just would work better with there own control system like steel batallion maybe they could for this even though they deffinatly wouldnt but still

I think carving out of wood would be too inpractical for a interactive games - unless you just press one button and he does it - but that destroys the objective and feel of it.
Capturing and using wildlife is good, original way.

Well eventually they might use such ideas or they may even be using them. It would still be a good idea to carve your own ammo but wouldn't be as good an idea because of the way they would have to do it... its a shame really.

Ammo catching sounds great! It's a lot better than running over a box I tell ya.

Oh, and on the weapon making note...maybe you could customize your own darts. Like...electric darts for instance. You could take wooden darts and soak 'em in a bowl of squished lightning bug. Or make stinky darts...etc.

Maybe there is a customization option once you get the right materials. Kind of like the "customize your own character" thing you see at the beginning of big-time RPGs only instead of characters it's ammo. KEWL.

If they did use weapon customization, I'd like to see it in the same menu format as the resident evil series.
