I think the 2 final levels of AO and AE are pretty scary...
A timed run, and then Shhhhhhhh... COUGH COUGH!

and for the blind muds, I don't see them to be scary, only scared easily...

I didnt realy find anything scary about Oddworld. Apart from being chased from the various Scrab or Paramite, which wasnt really scary, it just got the adrenaline pumping....a little bit. Ive played them too many times now for them to get my heart pumping.
