It doesn't necessarily have to. Newton's laws apply in simple physics. There are other types of physics that are not ruled by such common laws. I'm not a scientist, but neither are you :P.

BigFace isn't Abe from the future though, it's a farfetched and pointless storyline. Maybe it's that he's taking a vow of silence, but instead of just being silent, in mudokon culture it's normal for such body modifications/mutilations and he actually stitched his lips in some kind of religious ritual

even though its impossible:
1. He wouldn't dissappear, he would have never have existed beyond the point where abd is chucked in the meat grinder,(I watch a lot of Doctor Who)
2. It wouldn't happen anyway because it didn't.

3. Like AvengingGibbons said, it wont be abe from the future because its just downright stupid, why would BigFace kill his past self? No, this isn't Misfits.

The accepted canon is that the hand on the moon appeared long ago, and was ultimately what caused the antagonism between the Mudokons and Glukkons.

Lorne's original idea was that a meteor shower forming the print occurred right before Abe escaped RuptureFarms, but he decided it was far too "deus ex machina" and worked it into their backstory.
