Their not that hard to deactivate; it just takes practice.

However; if your looking for an easy way around them, I suggest using possessed Sligs, bombs or spirit rings to depose of them. I must note though that you will of course not be able to do this with every UXB you come across.

On Topic: anyway, the first few mines you come across in ao have a pretty easy pattern, but you can usually avoid them, where as the patterns in paramonia and stuff are quite hard to remember and you have to know how many red beeps before the green each time.

Yeah that part really annoys me. I think it's glitched so it's very difficult to get a slig to follow you. I've only ever killed a slig with the UXB twice.

I'm actually stuck there right now. Been playing through AO trying to save all 99, just did the secret area and got killed by those anoying sligs. Happened 2 more times and then I said FFFFFUUUUUUUU- and quit.

Same here but sometimes I start to get tired and I just shut it off. I dunno if its just me but I think Im getting bored of the same games year after year. I want some new juice! Don't get me wrong though they are fun to play and they also are number 1 however I am just ready to move forward.

When I first got Exoddus I was too afraid to touch the Mines, I Always got my dad to do it and if he did it wrong which he did often, I laughed so frickin hard.

Nowadays I still laugh. Who think the Oddysee/Exoddus Death Tune is really over dramatic. in a funny way?

When I started on AE I had a lot of trouble with the mines; I think they're actually easier in AO because the lack of quicksaving means you have to stop and learn the pattern, rather than just going for dumb luck. I always recite the patterns out loud softly to get it into my head. Beep-beep-beep-BOOP-beep-beep-BOOP-beep-BOOP...

anyway, yes, that secret area is so annoying, but sometimes the slig just walks right off the edge, it only does it about every ten times, and mostly when your on the left side of the ledge.
