So it would kind of taken the gamespeak aspect with NPC's further, or talking with other players to build an army/community with Fable (good/evil) consequences.

I really liked the sense of isolation that the older games had. It made it more mysterious and very appealing to me. I'd like to see more of that. That's probably been discussed before though, but I feel that was OI's edge that made them stand apart from other games at the time.

Of course no one seems to remember Sligstorm, Brutal Ballad, Squeek's Oddysee. All cancelled.

The best we can hope for is the Oddmobb antisocial network...

If I was a multi millionaire, by God I'd fund it all by myself if I had to, of course Lorne would be in his late 50s by then probably.

Not necessarily. Remember that Citizen Siege was on the project roster, and more than likely a few other projects we don't even know about yet. Just because they're called the "OddMobb" doesn't mean they're going to be making more Oddworld media. In fact, the name "Oddmobb" distances itself from Oddworld by it's lack of specificity. By being called Oddmobb and not Oddworld Inhabitants, they can get away with still being odd without making Oddworld.

But the entire point of all this was to release the Oddworld Quintology as a series of games and use this basis to create a film series based on the Quintology.

I'm all for other projects and Lorne and co. should expand their scope beyond the Quintology but if they abandon the entire Oddworld premise forever, then essentially they are abandoning the reason their business was created in the first place.

I'd love if they continued making Oddworld-related media, but at some point the line between art and business gets blurred. Shit happens, and if you can no longer make a business out of your art, then you need to start exploring new venues before you can expect to get back on your feet.

As it is, Lorne has to re-establish himself before he takes on Oddworld again, especially if he expects to make it into a film(s). He endeavored to make five games, and a series of films based on the games. Before that he endeavored to make films only. Now who knows what he's got in store.

I do understand the problems Lorne and his buddies have faced over the years and as you said "you need to start exploring new venues before you can expect to get back on your feet." I just hope that they intend to get back on their feet rather than solely exploring new venues.

I mean, you have to give him some credit, he did create 4 games and took a stab at his goal for finishing the Quintology.

I'm not sure what the difficulties are that prevents him from finishing any project in the last five years...

Haven't they ran into a large amount of financial difficulties? And hasn't their shitty relationship with EA games destroyed any involvement with the video games industry? I think Lorne's been rather vocal about many of the business related, creative and financial problems their company has faced over the years.

But since the website is coming up this month, I'm sure we'll be hearing about something sometime this year.

I'm pretty sure that Lorne also just doesn't want to compromise Oddworld judging by his interviews. I think he's waiting until he can fully realise his vision...
