If fan made content gets it please include Rybirs... I guess you should ask Marvak/Sparky first... but they are my favorite fan made Oddworld creature.

Weighing 6 tonnes and standing 7 feet tall, the Rybir may seem like the ultimate killing machine. Was once used by Slig Security Forces as a beast of war, but the Rybir's lethargic behaviour and (for the most part) disinterest in killing made it very inconvenient. Furthermore, when breeding season came around, females on heat proved to be utterly uncontrollable, even by teams of Big Bros.
The Rybir can go for almost two weeks without the need to eat, their primary source of food being the larger animals such as Scrabs, Paramites and Meetles. Mudokons and Elums prove to be too quick to catch.
The Rybir kills it's prey by lying in wait, often for days, in long grass untill an unsuspecting creature wanders by. The Rybir then makes a sudden leap, pinning the prey against the ground and crushing it to death, before tearing at it's flesh and bones with it's beak.
The Rybir has four eyes; two facing forward, for enhanced binocular vision, to hunt prey. And two at the sides of its head, to watch for potential predators. You'd think that such a large and dangerous beast would have no predators, but the Rybir's skin is on of the toughest and softest of all mammals, with the weakness being the soft underbelly. Brave Mudokons who wish to prove themselves may set out on a quest to bring back the hide of a Rybir as a trophy

Oh, and a vehicle suggestion: Flying pants. Well I don't really know what theyre called but I'm referring to the device the Sligs use as flying Sligs though

Pantless Sligs should be able to strap themselves in and fly off. (That is if flying vehicles are available in the game)

If fanmade content floods it I'll lose a lot of interest. It becomes less Odworld and more a different game that happens to feature Oddworld stuff, like a shoot-em-up version of Spore. The SW creatures werent' great, and I never did like the Scuba Toad name, but I'd rather they were in than custom stuff. And besides that, there's very little fan-made content I've ever liked in terms of species. Vehicles and so forth, sure, but fan species tend to do nothing for me.

I understand your quary and I'll keep a limit to fanmade content immersion. This is afterall a fan made endevour into the Oddworld Universe, why not expand.

I will only expand however if the concept and bio to the universe is of a professional and considerate nature. i.e the drawing is of clear detail and has a believable existance in the Oddworld universe.

I do love the concept of the Rybir, but im not sure I will include as its position in the Oddworld universe is debatable. To be honest the only way im going to be able to decide is from a community poll.

But yah, link me to other custom fanmade creatures and content up for consideration I would love to see more.

You can get dongos (My fan made creatures,Paramites with Sea Rex head) into the game?
Mudokons can be used to ride on it.

I imagine Malloy is going to get pretty pissed very quickly if this thread is assaulted by people wanting their fan creatures in his game.

Possibly if this project ever gets so far off the ground a separate topic or blog or whatever could be created to check fanmades but I think it's really pig headed of people to ask this early in the process.

That been said, I love this idea and think you're doing a fantastic undertaking

I'm not very skilled with computers but if you want help with anything non-technical later. Will edit the camera angle/character stuff into this post when I don't have to be at university in half an hour.

Hey, Its cool if people want their fanmade content brought to life, the only thing I can ask is people dont get pissed off If i dont choose theirs...

I'll only be modelling fanmade content if they scream Oddworld.

I could go for having a Snoozer as a vehicle. Also, As in the games, Abe should be able to possess living things, while Munch is able to control Machinery. But, I believe that instead of having Abe and Munch, what if players could make and customize their own Mudokon or Gabbit? I think that would bring a lot more perspective into the game, and even attract MMO fans in general, not just Oddworld fans. Hell, if you actually go through with this, Oddworld could become a lot more popular!

Snoozer is definitely in... Although... you're saying only Gabbit players can use electronic stuff and Mudokens can possess the opposite team?

I was researching into UT3 some more for possibilities and its possible to have loads of Fuzzles follow you about and order them to attack the opposing team. Same with slogs, but there will be a lower slog caps as they're bigger than fuzzles.

hmmm im thinking of a weapon which starts off as 10 cages with 10 fuzzles and when Gabbits walk upto it and press 'e' you release 10 fuzzles which follow you around and you can order them around
the cap will be 10 fuzzles per person. Sligs can get slogs from a kennel cap of two maybe?

Ooh good idea, I never thought of that. I suppose it could use its back leg to stab at players too.

Ha ha dont be beat up on yourself, I only use one method of modelling which is what i used for the Gabbit.

This method can be used for weapons, vehicles, bipeds, terrain environments, anything.

C: As far as fan-made content goes, maybe you could hold a contest of some kind and the winners get their creatures featured in the game. That way everyone gets a chance to try out, but only one or two actually get it in. That way it still keeps the Oddworld feel without having too many fan-made creations brought in. I dunno.

Arms look a bit elasticy/rubbery, but that's not too much to fix/ for all I know might not be the finished version anyway. And besides anything else its still an amazingly good 3D model, far better than anything I could ever hope to do. I really hope this project comes off successfully, it'd be awesome.

I found a copy of UT3 special edition today cheap as dirt, but I can't run it with my 64mb graphics card

ha ha that statement was assuming people had default computers which come with Nvidia7600 up :P. PC World standard at the moment. (residents in UK only)

Hi. Thank you for your efforts to make an old, but a masterpiece of the game born anew. And for the idea, i agree with most of these guys. I think it would be a shame for the oddworld to be in first person, it would be the best in 3rd. I have also had a cool thought of a strategy game, mudokons who have a native base in the forests and temples where they recruit, and the mighty slig army and their Glukkon generals and tanks(maybe they could recruit from former Rupture farms?). Anyway, i thought of a strategy game like WIC or DOW, but now i see that it cannot be that, so nothing... Also, please tell me when will the mod be completed
