Real interesting news. And it's always great to hear news on Oddworld.

I'm actually kinda' glad that Vanguard isn't handling Citizen Siege... I don't know why, but "Shrek" + "Oddworld" never settled well in my stomach.

None the less, I look forward to whatever it becomes.

Go OWI!

Agreed.

It's no secret that I had a problem with this film from the first time I ever heard of it. I found the logo they used for it to be moronic and the idea to be dated. Especially, the idea of gas rising to such outrageous prices that they would need armed guards at the gas stations. There have been huge strides in alternative fuels in the last ten years so by the time this happened I find it highly unlikely that people would just lie down and pay these exorbitant fees. I understand that it's supposed to be topical. I just feel as if the topic has been done, couldn't be done better, and is out of date (partially. I do understand that there is more to it than the gas crisis).

However, I find Lorne's execution of the stories that he is trying to tell to be spot on, for the most part. He breathes life into the characters in ways that very few artists are capable. In SW, for instance, I hated the idea and appearance of the Clakkerz. I still do not think that they are one of his best creations but when I got the game I didn't mind them. They annoyed me but only in the way that they were supposed to annoy me.

Bottom line: I hope good things are to come from this company and I am pleased that CS will not get the opportunity to tarnish them in my mind.

i am seriously optimistic about oddworld now, and with lorne realived from the pressure of handling a whole company. i think its gonna be easyer for him to dust off the creative immagination that we fell in love with

I'll continue to believe in Lorne and his ability to do incredible things with stories as well. We've just gotten very brief views of what CS may be, and at this point it could go in any direction. The storyteller can really change the story, even if it is an outdated one, and that's what I'm expecting in CS.

Of course, I would prefer another story set on Oddworld before anything else...

I am consistently doubtful of Oddworld Inhabitants. Naught but letdown and confusion since Stranger's Wrath. Blah! Blah!

I have to admit that at times, I've been a bit worried (and annoyed) for the future of Oddworld ever since Stranger's Wrath; its probably the looooong wait combined with absolutely no info whatsoever that fuelled this. But we've stuck in there and slowly, but surely things are looking brighter; I have to say Nate, your interview with Lorne was one inspiring read that makes one just yearn for more Oddworld delights.

I suppose in years to come we can look back over these comments and then laugh merrily over our wavering disbelief in Lorne & Sherry, whilst we hopefully ready ourselves to go out & queue in line at the local Odeon for the matinee premiere of "Oddworld: The Big Screen Adventure" (hopefully it will have a better name than that, though). Then we'll see how foolish we were really being.

That would be something worth meeting up for, at any rate. Guests of honour at the premier, if we're lucky.

Well, I know at least the mods and administrators should get the privelege to see the premiere, but it would indeed be awesome to all go together.

I doubt OWI will disappoint us as much as they did with MO or SW again. Stranger's Wrath wasn't even that bad, it could've been worse, but it turned out to be an okay game. Thing is, they wanted to try something different, and a lot of fans didn't like it. But you have to think, they probably had all those years planning AO, and that's why it turned out so well. We're not going to see any news on the new game anytime soon, so that means they'll have had years to make this game, meaning it'll be decent.

Well, OWI was founded in 1994, so AO had 2-3 years actual development time. It was another age back then, when you could actually develop a new code with an entirely novel engine in a year without an army of supermen programmers working 24/7.

It's bigger than any other faecal deposit anyone else ever made, thus trumping them all. In a world of excrement, only size matters. And, I supposed; fragrance, consistency, colour and content. But they don't count for video games.

Don't get me wrong, I love Stranger's Wrath. I think its a brilliant game, love it to pieces; I meant that after OWI released it we didn't really hear anything else but disappointments and silence.

For the record, I think Stranger's Wrath was an extraordinary game. Much better than MO.

Stranger's Wrath was more of a case of starting with the game you wanted to make and building on it from there. MO was like getting fifteenth century Europeans to build the Empire State building in its current location in half the time.
