I've been playing Crysis for the last few days and I must say, it's one of the most awesome games I've come across yet. I've been playing a lot in the past two days and I think I've already had a good 10 hours of playing time just going trough the first 3 levels. Wether thats me messing around (coming up with the funniest way to kill Koreans is fun
) or actual playtime I dunno.
There are only a couple of downsides to this game though:
1. Unless you have standing a 10.000 dollar computer with the latest tech in it you will not be able to run the game to anywhere near Very High settings. I have a state of the art computer and if I run it on full the game either crashes or gives me an FPS of 2. I'm running everything on medium with AA set at 2 (don't be fooled though, it still looks pretty good, looks better with AA at 16 though
). However, Crytek insisted that the game specs they published would be enough for the best quality. In this case, that's false advertising.
2. It's an EA game. While Crytek is responsible for the majority of the game development, they have a deadline to meet. With the usual pressure of EA the game is left with some serious (though not fatal) bugs. For instance the game installed fine but is launched in windowed mode by (I think) default. The game sometimes has trouble sticking to a resolution after restarting it and will sometimes also turn off any AA settings you put in.
Other then those two points Crysis is a very cool game which I absolutely recommend you play at least once in your life!
