Slap lacks sexual organs as well, which probably is the reason why most of his emotions have been settled to nothing and why he lacks sexual interest. He has been, well, castrated. At a stage where he can no longer develop either behaviors or traits of either sex of Interns. In case you're wondering, this was done to him in order to continue masses of Interns being produced at one time.

Physical abuse to any level is disturbing, whether it was seen in the games or not. We're just saying, the abuse your characters has gone through seems horrible, and we aren't very excited to see a lot of it. (Yes, I do realize Slap has gone through cruel treatment as well. That was just hard childhood experience. (Slap wasn't really abused. He was given equipment in which he had no idea how to operate, and sort of gone from there into accidents.) (Molt wasn't proud as a Slig to let these things happen to his employees.))

I think what we are trying to say is that this kind of information is the kind that often lots of people have to go through and rather not remember. So just bringing it up very often isn't very healthy for us.

I have heard stories of people much related to your characters having similar events happening to them. There has been people in the past that have been mutilated after simply having an average job, but being different costed them their health. Now the Domino relation.... my grandma knows of people that come from Africa with war stories. Unspeakable war stories. So horrifying, that the people don't have any abilities to speak about them. At all.

Not saying that your disturbing characters aren't interesting. They certainly are. But they just hold a lot of disturbance to them. It is just horrifying to think that innocent people are being hurt for the pleasure of sadistic people. Or people going through life changing accidents.

That's most of the entire point of Oddworld (and virtually all satirical fiction). It is exaggerated portraits of real incidents and figures (though in my case, Arrack and Domino are mostly spawned from my own desire to push boundaries and limits and my sense of humour).

Arrack essentially is a character I created first as a side story for Praetyre to tell, then tied him in to a similar character of Mitsur's, making them one and the same. He's evolved over time, maturing, dematuring, getting more and less ugly, but he's never been intedned to represent any sort of mutilated employee. He's just my experience in an ugly as sin psychotic Elton John character that you can also feel sorry for and laugh at his Zim-like ravings.

Domino is just my experiment in a LGBT character, my addition to what I think is an Intern-starved factory, and in his master my lame excuse.. err, opportunity to exercise my perverted neurons.

Of course it's horrifying. It should be horrifying. It should make you recoil, laugh, cry, and think. That's exactly what Lorne does, and that's what I do. Praetyre is just a semiregular Vykker who cleans up the messes of the interesting folks, the Lecter's and Vader's of the Oddworld. In Heaven, all the interesting people are missing, to quote Jacob's signature (although neither of my character's are truly evil in any way).

It's disturbing, because it's meant to be.

May I ask how a Vykker is straight? I mean, there may be a central theme on how male like or female like a Vykker may be, but that doesn't deny how they are. Vykkers are hermaphrodites, and assuming that they aren't female is a lie, but assuming they aren't male is a lie too. Their both. So their sexuality may be... bisexual. I can't really find the term for it.
