Hey Ambi...

Why couldn't it have killed Jeff Corwin instead, you know? Foolish stingrays.

He cheated death so many times and arrogantly made a movie about it, but stingrays are super lame his wife is probably embarrassed I wouldn't want anyone to know I was killed by a manta especially if I was a legend, doom comes to all.
Manta's may not kill many people, but I have never heard of anyone else taking a 20 cm barb (poisoned or not) to the heart and living.

And his wife is probably grieving and trying to make her two children understand why daddy isn't coming home.

(How old are his kids now anyway?)

I'd imagine his wife and children are more inconsolable about the fact he's dead than blushing with the humiliation of having a husband/father that got killed by a "lame" creature, fuckwit.

20 cm barb, what is that, 4-6 inches? How big that ray musta been! My brother stepped on one in St. Andrew's Bay about a 1/10th the size of the stingray that got Irwin and he was seriously ****ed up for the rest of the day.
You know, this makes me feel really bad about all the times my dad and my brothers would joke about starting a dead pool for him. I always called snakes. Everybody went with the alligators and crocs, thats bull, Irwin was whoopin' crocs and gators since he was like 10.
Anyhow, this guy brought my whole family a lot of enjoyment and its a pretty shitty way to go. I heard this was the first documented ray death in over 10 years.

His youngest (the one he had in his arms when he fed the crocodile) is 2 now, and his eldest is 8.

I would prefer to think that they are not greiving anymore. But laughing. thinking of all the good times they had with Daddy/Steve.

The 20 cm is what I heard, I could be wrong, but even so, it still hit his heart, he didn't have a chance.

I always thought that if he was killed like this, it would ether be a snake or a large mammal like a lion or a bare.

Greiving is important and takes time. But yes I hope there is laughter in the end.

Or a croc.

I wish it never happened.

This is the only time I can think of in my lifetime that a celebrity I liked died, and when I have tought "I wish he was not dead".

(James Doohan doesn't count, I did not know anything of Star Trek then.)

Yeah, serious, I was remember the good times I had with him.

But yeah, I did cry, for hours on end before so. It was a few days before I was able to think of the good times I'd had with him, but I did do it, and it's not disturbing.

Actually, 20 cm is a lot closer to 8 inches than 4 inches. I think calling it a barb minimizes the total badass ways of the stingray and the death. Irwin got stabbed through the heart with a serrated, venom drenched Bowie knife, don't call it a barb. Show a little respect, CNN.

But not as odd as people may think, after all a funeral is followed by a wake, and the wake is meant to be a party.

Well, since I find it disturbing, it is disturbing. But I'm glad you can find the humour and joy in such woeful situations. It's a talent, of sorts.

I just got this image of someone's mother having died and them just sitting there cradling her false teeth, laughing hysterically.

No

You don't laugh hysterically, you smile, not laugh. Greiving does take time, but it is followed by good memories, you wouldn't want the only memory of your father to be "He died" and never smile about him again would you.

And just because you say something, doesn't mean your right, bitch.

I wouldn't care one jot about memories, etc. There's a difference between remembering some nice times and letting them become dominate and wallow in them. I take the rough with the smooth. Still find it a bit... off.

And yeah, because I say so, it IS disturbing because it's a subjective thing and I find it as such. It's like when you say, 'oh, it's embarrassing!!!!!' and somebody tells you it's not. I'm the only person who can tell me what I find disturbing, sad, etc. That's what I meant.

Umm, oh, bitch.

EDIT: After some thought I have come to the conclusion that it is really quite creepy.

Yeah I heard about this last night tis a damn shame and my first thought was this is terrible for his family especially to his children, but even his wife it seems like they both loved wildlife and nature. However, he at least died in a way I think he would have approved of. Except, far too soon I'm sure.

Ok so it wasn't a croc but I think It's how he would have wanted to die.

What a ridiculous thing to say. We have no idea how he 'wanted' to die.

Just because the man relished dangerous animals doesn't mean he had a particular desire to be slain by one of them.

Personally, I don't give a shit about him dying. I think that being killed by an animal is the lowliest death anyone could die by...and, I guess, he messed with animals, so it's no surprise that he was killed by one.

I caught a stingray once. Small thing, about 1 foot head to toe. Very tasty.

Of course there isn't dumbas. There wan't a question.

EDIT: I don't think I should be posting this because this thread is respecting Steve Irwin and I'm ruining it by starting a flame war.

EDIT 2: Your not even worth bothering with MF. Your pathetic and worthless. I'm going to stop before I get a warning like I did last time with Cyber-Slig.

Only... "answer" can serve as meaning a response to a question OR simply a response in general.

And another point is you keep writing 'your' when in actual fact you mean 'you're'.

Dumbass.

And I've been very respectful to Irwin in this thread, what with pointing out some people's stoopad replies. It's no less than he deserves.

When you actually think about it... it is rather sad, really.

"Messed with animals"? He was a zoo owner and a conservationist who dedicated his life to nature. Its like saying a piano virtuoso "slaps his hand on rectangles".
I think it reflects poorly on the people joking about this bizarre death and talking shit about Irwin.
Seriously, what the **** has he ever done to you?
