My pondering of posts -

if you look at the behaviour of those with a higher postcount, and those with a lower one, you begin to realise that the larger their postcount is, the worse their behaviour gets.

List at least 5-10 serious members (read: no one who's spammed or been an assmonkey from day one) with posts near the thousands or over that this applies to please.

Anywho, like Nate and others, I don't see any substantial reason to change anything.

If a new moderator is added, I call for AFFIRMATIVE ACTION (dun dun dun!) for fair representation of females... or something. In other words, Rexy for teh modship.

EDIT: Or Nate! Affirmative action can apply to him too!

And I'll be the "alternative" option for moderator, you know, the one all the cool people vote for cause I'm "underground" and everyone else is too "mainstream" and "commercialised".

Nah, I don't think I really have time to do that kinda thing. Would be fun bossing people around for the first few days though. I imagine the novelty of that would soon wear off but... meh.

So where was I? Oh yeah... nah ambi I can't be arsed giving you lists of people to be honest, I think most of us with half a gallon of common sense knows who they are anyway, and naming them here would just do me no favours. You're probably going to assume that this means I couldn't, which is fine, that's a price I'll pay to avoid naming and shaming.

I probably have no say in this (or I do *thinks*......) Anyway I think Rexy (if that is possible) only because she hasn't been bitching about posts (or generally being bitchy)....that I've noticed anyway. Havoc probably because he acts like a moderator, and Dino because he makes points that aren't bollocks......I thinks thats all of them *thinks...again* yes....that'll do it I'm just glad I haven't got to pick *evil laugh #62*...*coughs*.

But yea, final point is that the staff needs to decide if we need another mod in the first place, and who it's gonna be is their choice. Everyone wanting to be a mod can only hope.

Or they could just appoint someone. I know the mods well enough that I trust their judgement (read: the same people piss them off as me).

Well if people want me to moderate I guess I'm not really one to say that I won't at least give it a shot if there's an election. But I warn you in advance, the chances of me getting the role are low, and even if I do, Alcar might rig the elections so that I don't win - I really doubt that he would trust me. So think carefully before you go throwing away that precious vote.

I think it's just the whole community all together. We've become more spammy than ever, and just a couple of days ago, we couldn't have at least 1 thread without flames and spam... I guess it's settled down a bit now.

I think given the fact that the "few active members" do a pretty damn good job of breaking the rules, and the moderators do a pretty damn good job of doing nothing about it until it's gotten out of hand, I'd be inclined to say YES we do. It's a problem, and it needs fixing, so why are you asking whether we should fix it?

Turning to facts that might reinforce the case for not needing a new moderator is just a way of ignoring the problem, which is counter-constructive. Yeah we have only a few active members, but they are the ones that need moderating, and currently they're not being moderated very well. Whether that's because the current moderators aren't very good or because there aren't enough of them I'm not at liberty to say. But either way it wouldn't hurt to have another on board - at least then there'd be a greater likelihood of rulebreaking being solved sooner. Besides, there's always been 3 mods for for OT, and now there's only two who are stretched out over the whole of zulag two, not just the single forum.

Dino, we've been lax on moderating because there are so few members.

If we moderated away all of the stupid shit in OT, then there would be nothing left, because OT is dumb as hell. I see no reason to go all Nazi on the six or seven contributive members that this forum still has. This place is boring enough as it is.
