Technically there are 17 Final Fantasies [including the yet to be released FFXII]. However FF Tactics and FF Tactics Advance are more Strategy games than RPGs. Then there is FF Crystal Chronicles on the GameCube and FF Mystic Quest on the SNES.

Look. All of you. Just go buy Plaescape Torment. It was a flop sales wise but one of the best games ever. It's on sale for like nothing. Just go buy it.
