There were numerous reasons why OWI made an exclusivity deal with Microsoft for Munch's Oddysee. The biggest of which was Microsoft offered them loads of money to develop it and have it ready to be released alongside the Xbox. Furthermore, by being a second party developer with Microsoft they'd make even MORE money off the game directly from MS themselves, even if the game itself didn't do so well. Also, as I said, the PS2 is a bitch to program for in comparison to the Gamecube and Xbox.

and point 3, I refer to the SplinterCell games, my friend owns it on PS2, okay it has an extra level, but the Xbox version looks way better, and was out sooner

Where, when replying to your "point 3", did I ever mention that PS2 games look better than Xbox games? I said the PS2 is harder to program for, but Sony has started demanding better quality out of developers or else they won't support their products in full. Of course Xbox is going to look better when you compare the same game on it and PS2. It has newer, more advanced hardware, supports both bump and normal mapping, and has a natural antialiasing effect to smooth out model edges. However, I don't like the "solid" look Xbox gives games. They don't look natural because they don't blend as well, IN MY OPINION. And yes, I've played my share of Xbox games and have compared several games that were released on both Xbox and PS2, and I'm a huge hardware buff, so I do know what I'm talking about.

They have quotes direct from Lorne Lanning himself as to why he decided not to use the PS2. And, as I have said, the major reasons were 1. The PS2 is harder to code for, and 2. Microsoft offered them more support.
However, that has changed now that Microsoft has completely dumped support of OWI and won't even publish their games anymore, likely due to the poor sales of Munch's Oddysee.
However, such poor sales can likely be attributed to the lack of interest among Xbox gamers for games that "break the mold". Very few games take any risk by trying to do something unique, which OWI is famous for doing. Therefore, it's likely safe to assume that, as I said towards the beginning of this thread, the majority of Xbox gamers are uninterested in anything original and out of the ordinary, and would sooner spend their money on the Halo 2 than Stranger.
By refraining from developing Oddworld games on the PS2, OWI is merely limiting their sales by trying to appease an unwanting audience. And you can quote me on that.
Mr. Lanning and his team sure know how to make a damned good game. They just don't know jack shit about marketing.
