Can you connect an Ethernet cable to the laptop and another computer, enable file sharing, and copy the files across from the latter?

I could, but I haven't yet bought a PCMCIA ethernet port. I know there are loads of them on eBay that would work with it.
At the moment, I'm waiting for an old CD Drive to come, apparently it was build for old Toshibas so I should be able to get that working.
