What do you think is wrong with microsoft? I really think that everything they have been doing is dandy.

It's hard say really. I guess I've just not been given a good reason that would motivate me to dish out $400. I feel that I can wait, which is the first time this has happened to me. Perhaps I'm just getting older, or maybe I've been spoiled by the gorgeous Metal Gear Solid 4 in-game trailer.

Ahem the lack of decent launch titles and the fact they screw up after 4 hours of play because the power supply overheats. Just to make it clear im not anti-microsoft, i own a xbox, ps2 and gamecube. The xbox for FPS, PS2 for general play and the cube for specialist games.

Frankly, I could care less if they decided to make all 3rd party games explode on contact, it's got to be better than what Microsoft has delivered so far.

I would like to disagree. Now nintendo has been in the video game buisness longer than anyon so far correct. Now they have been making these mistakes during the N64 era. They have been (I think) more than 10 years in the buisness at that time. Well look at that. The screwed up thattime right? SO why not sony? (My fanboy mode is off by the way. So don't be all LoL NiNteNdO FanBOY.)

Nintendo is a smaller, far more experimental company, and by that, I mean they take more risks. They have the ability to take such chances. Sony is a huge corporation with ties to all forms of media, their aim is to make as much money as possible. A small mistake for Nintendo would be a much bigger mistake for Sony.

Not the most eloquent explanation, but whatever.

Yeah Sony has a whole buttload more of stuff out besides consoles, if they screw up on anything it would put a dent in thier buisness.

Its because they make a ton of gameboys. They have about 10 that they have made so far, and a lot of them are bassicly the same thing.

They may all have similar characteristics but they are enitirely different at that. The Game and Watch was the first form of hand held gaming introducing the popular 80's character Mr Game and Watch. The first game boy was bulky and colorless, the gamboy color was lighter and in color with better graphics, the gameboy advanced allowed game cube connectioin for multiplayer purposes for such games like Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. The nintendo DS allowed touch control which opened up a new side of nintendo gaming and text messaging.

So do NOT state all of thema re the same. Because yet again, you have proved your own stupid ignorance to me.

And don't go "NOO! CALM DOWN!!!! OMFG!!!!!!!" because if ou are going to do that at this point you should have learned by now what makes people go off.

Nintendo has 75% of the handheld gaming market supposedly because they have been in the handheld industry for much longer than Sony, so stating that like it's evidence to like Nintendo better is like an old man teasing a baby.

I might add that Sony's first console mopped the floor with the competition, and was easily the best of gen at the time. (and don't bring up the dreamcast because that was out-of-gen/halfgen)

If I remember right, nintendo have never had that kind of success. They've never been number one. Only back when they first started and there was no competition were they ever the leaders. Megadrive overtook the nintendo consoles, playstation overtook the n64, and PS2 overtook the Gamecube, which only barely managed to grab the spotlight for a while with Resident Evil, which was a refreshing break from the millions of boring garishly coloured samey arcade style games, and then of course a little later the XBox came along and beat the merry jesus out of all of them.

So really I don't think you can look at Nintendo and say they're a major competitor. Sony and Microsoft are the real superpowers here, and they also both have a history of overtaking the competition with their first consoles.

I don't care who makes more money than who. The Revolution is the only console that has engaged my interest so far and will probably be the only next gen that I buy. Unless double fine makes games that don't come to it, that is.
