Stranger's Wrath didn't exactly exactly triumph in the charts, miladdo.

Well, it did better than Munch's Oddysee. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it only a tad bit behind Abe's Exoddus, chart-wise?

If it were that successful, I don't think OWI would be in the position they are today.

Well, where was it placed?
I thought that was what everyone is looking for in games, today. Shoot 'em up type stuff...

I think the portraits of the ammunition staring up at them from the back of the box may have scared away the ignoramus.

It would certainly have alot of competion. I went to see Cars the other day (yes, Cars) and there were no less than 5 CGI trailers for films (and no live action or trad. anims!). Two of them were about rats! And they didn't even included Monster House or the Ant Bully.

CGI films are really popular this summer, and they will probably still make more for years to come. That's why I think the Oddworld movie has a good chance of being a hit.

In an Xbox magazine issue I had Stranger's Wrath was in a portion called something like "the best games you never played"

I think it is really fun, because the story was good. The graphics were good though not top of the line. I also liked the challenge. Alot of people I know sucked at it, which was probably why they didn't like it. Some of my friends are also close-minded and only like the "cool" games like Midnight Club (still a good game though) and hate games that are too imaginative like Stranger's Wrath. I bet a lot of people are like this which is why Oddworld isn't doing so well.

I'm sure most people don't hate oddworld just never heard of it, SW wasn't marketed properly but was still an excellent game maybe a little to easy, but compared to some the CG films out now OWI would have a seriously good chance.

making a film on fangus would be a good idea considering they halted the production of the game still having primary designs for it. on the other hand they could base the films on any of the cancelled games but we don't know much at the moment so anything could be possible. they might even do a film that has nothing to do with any of the arranged/released games.

Not so sure,I saw MO with a Platinum Hits box on it.

ALso,Oddworld will have no real competition, all the other CG ovies are comedies for the most part,I dont think Oddworld will be focused on comedy rather than action.Though it will probably have some good jokes.

actually Oddword has a lot of comedy in it. It's just that most of it is dark comedy.

it says this in the interview though

quote:"THR: Using the Oddworld universe?
Lanning: Not necessarily. We've been cooking up other non-Oddworld stuff."

He's probably referring to Citizen Siege there. But the overwhelming theme of the interview is that he wants to use the Oddworld Mythos, as well as their previously created Oddworld IP, to develop other media.

My theory is that they're probably a kind of easter egg from Silvio Aebischer to the rest of OWI. I quite like them actually.

An easter egg in what way? They're not hidden in any OWI products.

it's the film lorne is working on now, an animation movie featuring those dogs.
he's tired of Oddworld and wants to try something a bit more mainstream

just kidding

But he wouldn't want to use the OWI name in the intro titles of other
movies would he? That would not go exactly unnoticed.

Nothing wrong with that. The League of Gentlemen use their stage name even if they're collaborating on something other than The League of Gentlemen - it's just their flagship series.

I have no preference whether it's an Abe, Much or a Stranger movie. The main thing is that there have to be some vykkers

Hope its about Abe, I really don't want it to be about Fangus or even Stranger, I just didn't like the look of the Fangus game.
Fangus looked pretty awesome, but nobody can beat Abe.

Hopefully there will be a Munch's Oddysee film. But not until after there is an Abe film.

I know, I loved the story of MO and I love Munch, and I love the characters, but the game itself....kinda sucked...

And plus, it would be weird seeing Abe and not knowing where the hell he came from. Unless, of course, you alter the storyline abit...

Well you don't know anything about where Abe has come from in AO, other than the fact that he knows nothing of the world beyond Rupturefarms (and clearly has been there all his life).

Now I'm hoping the movie just stars Abe, He's just.......so cool, in some way. He's the best representation of oddworld, and I think would be really funny in the movies since he's so goofy.
